Re: Stokes Freezing out good players .. eg Stokes, Griffiths and Commons, and to some extent James Forrest .... seems to me that will be one of the abiding memories of Deila's 2 years. Agreed, John Collins needs to walk the plank too ... then the new man can start the task of flushing out the dross and the baggage on the player payroll -- Mackay-Steven, and his fellow-passenger Armstrong, Johansen, Boyata, Ambrose etc. I would even give Mulgrew and Brown some reflective time on the bench, just to see if they can freshen up their attitude.Of course, all the above depends on how much Lawwell & Desmond will loosen their vice-like grip on the purse strings. Whoever the new man is, I hope he will be man enough to think on those lines before agreeing a deal.PSI hope it isn't David Moyes ....we should be looking for someone with a proven winning mentalityGJ
Stokes 7 goals in 17 games for Hibs which is a continuation of what he used to do for Celtic prior to RD freezing him out. Pretty soon the Judi Dench will be cleared from the Celtic dugout. I wonder if RD will take his trusted No.2 JC with him to the next big job? [link]
Re: embarrassed again lol Gimmy greetin into his half pint of Guiness---------- -----
Lawwell Looks like our absent (not that bothered) largest shareholder has the failing CEO on his radar. If he had cared to watch Celtic this season then he would already know the lawwell experiment has failed. Lawwell has tried to do what Vladimir Romanov tried and failed at Hearts. Loads of players and get a coach to bring them on. Bit like a horse trainer. Maybe that's why DD bought the idea.So the man with the big tash and preference shares will need to start to show a bit of interest now as he has season tickets to sell. They are out of touch if they think 50,000 people will scramble to get season tickets for the opportunity to shout at Sevco a couple of times a year. [link]
Re: embarrassed again RD could not pick his nose. The two enforced subs yesterday turned out to be the guys who scored the goals. You could go one all day about RD and his inadequacies.IMHO for Celtic to be win the league comfortably and qualify for champions league they just need to get a competent manager. Despite the current managers best efforts to prove otherwise I feel Celtic have a squad with enough quality to dominate in Scotland.Sevco might think there is no gap between them and Celtic. They are in for a rude awakening next year. They beat Celtic who have a clueless manager. Ross county done it a lot more comfortably in the last semi 3-1. In short RD is and has been a total liability. Get shot of him and you will see a new vastly improved Celtic. I'm confident of that.
Re: embarrassed again Well and truly embarrassed - but havn't we all seen this coming for a long time ?RD now firmly in the spotlight for the boot next month, though it could have been worse. At least he has kept us clinging to top place in the SPFL, even if it's only by virtue of other teams (bar one) not being able to keep upIMO it is RD's poor player judgment more than anything. Assuming he had some say in it, signing duffers like Johansen, Mackay-Steven, Armstrong and one or 2 others were sad and sorry decisions. And what manager on earth would persevere with chief duffer Mackay-Steven while Kris Commons sits on the bench ? RD even cold-shouldered Griffiths for long periods. Enough said.Add to all that, the demise of Mulgrew and Brown - both showing clear signals that they have had their day, and are no longer able to make any impact. Yet RD perseveres.Time to flush out the dross ....GJ
embarrassed again embarrassed again by a clueless manager and a squad with no passion for playing for Celtic under current management team. Not going into detail because its all been said for past 18 months.Sevco turned up with a bit of guts and that's al you need to do against a Celtic team under RD. Many average teams have done just that over past two years.Hopefully the last of the RD backers now finally get it it. He is a hopeless coach with no clue.He will be gone by the summer todays result will give board no option now. So at least we now have a chance of getting into champions league.

Re: Grim and mediocre .... Dundee v Celtic LG goals have been bailing out RD. A fair few games very similar to tonight only difference being LG came up with a goal. If LG goals have dried up it could be very telling for Celtic. I see a struggle on Saturday against Motherwell.
Re: Grim and mediocre .... Dundee v Celtic Up until this year nearly all league positions in the EPL are down to money spent. Only exception to rule being Everton (slightly better) and Newcastle (slightly worse). In football your position comes down to what you have spent on the squad. Celtic are getting beaten in Europe and at home by teams with a fraction of budget. It all comes down to the man we currently call the manager. It's painful watching RD stumble on and on and on.Celtic have a squad that should have this league well won by now and they should also have been in this season champions league. It's basically p!ss poor to actually go and watch Celtic. I cant see any set of circumstances were RD should be kept on. People will not buy season tickets next year just to go and watch a couple of sevco games. If the board don't realise that then they are in for a surprise. If Celtic don't win the league I will also want Lawwell to follow RD out the door. I think DD has lost interest in Celtic since sevco have gone.He has just left Lawwell to balance the books in whatever way he can. I think he may act now Sevco are back.
13 points from 6 games 13 points from 6 games is what is now required. no means certain under this hopeless manager.
Grim and mediocre .... Dundee v Celtic Watched tonight's game on a TV channel ... Grim ... they should have posted a get-out clause at the end of the proceedings to say that the fore-going broadcast was in no way intended to be representative of a genuine professional "game of Top League football", and that any such suggestion, or the role of the characters involved was merely incidental.Mediocre ... the standard from both teams was .. well, appalling .... is the only word I can think of .... hoof-ball and boot-ball ruled, 22 players incapable of the simplest of tasks, like passing the ball accurately to a colleague 5 or 10 yards away ... and then repeating the task a few times ....until an opening emerges. Naw, that's too complicated for the likes of Mackay-Steven, Johanson, Armstrong, Mulgrew etc Ho humm .... no Ronny-Roar tonight ... and Kris Commons warms the bench again for another 90 minutes .... what's going on ... ?Are we heading down for a last-game-of -the season showdown for the League Title ?That's assuming we've not already messed it up completely with more Grim and Mediocre games like this ...Poor .... very very poorGJ
Re: Phew On a slightly broader note, I noticed David Moyes has changed his tune and not ruled himself out of a possible move to Celtic. What concerns me, (and I am not a Celtic supporter), is that after his two recent appointments, Moyes plainly would still rather manage just about any Premiership or Championship side in England. What does that suggest about the standard of the Scottish Premiership?I must be getting old, but, I remember when any top four Scottish side could stuff any Swiss, Austrian or Scandinavian side. Now, just about any Slovakian, Slovenian or Scandinavian side can beat our best team. I know this has been mooted before, but, is it time for Celtic to consider the feasibility of buying an English team as a way of getting into the Premiership? As I see it, our standard of football can only get worse otherwise.
Re: Phew He kinda done the Ronnie roar but to be honest it was a pure release from him. Not the usual staged thing. I think the penny might be finally dropping that its about winning games. Funny to see what a couple of years in Glasgow can do. He has went from calm mellow Norwegian to shouting and swearing on TV.
Re: Phew " Phew" was the right word for it today popes ... Killy game was always going to be an awkward potential banana-skin. It was a dire game all round, but I think Rogic's 90-minute cracker probably crushed Aberdeen players' morale going into their later game v M'Well.Good to see Scott McDonald repay us a wee bit for that double strike he killed us with a few seasons ago ...Can't see Celts losing more games than Aberdeen from here on in .. and the title should be ours. And despite all our mutual criticisms, Ronny probably does deserve some breathing space ...He should have been more alert of the cameras and the mics nearby when he let out the F-word ... but at least he didn't do that arrogant fist-pumping-Ronny-roar thing ... or did he .. ?I hate all that sort of arrogance ..Hail
