Topped up Topped up with some more BRIT yesterday. Sensible but not stunning results out of BEZ today. Firm indications that the profitability of non life insurers has peaked for this cycle, so P/E's will rise even if share prices don't ie pressure will be downward on share prices. Invesco has been buying into LRE, which has pushed their price up.
Re: Topped up again I bought in August and am up 4% plus the dividend, so respectable but not exciting.I don't agree that analysts don't understand BRIT. They do. There are negatives, of course, some of which I highlighted in previous posts here.
Re: Topped up again A wise choice I think. I have seen a 12.5% increase in value over the last 8 months.
Topped up again Bought a hefty chunk of these today @ £2.60. Seem like sensible value in an overvalued market.
Re: Two points Greyinvestor,I think one did after hours with a £217K buy. Nice break through the previous high. Pity it could not hold the wick high of 274.5. Onwards and upwards
catlin bid helping
Re: Two points My personal experience is that it has been quite hard to buy relatively modest tranches of shares - imagine how difficult it is for an institution to creep in under the radar. I would counsel all holders to sit tight and be patient. BRIT seem to be dong the right things. But DYOR.
Re: Two points Greyinvestor,Like you I cannot understand why the price is so low and trending sideways, up only 3% since float. As far as I can see the business is solid (but WTFDIK) and the dividends just covered. What I cannot determine is the risk they are taking on in the areas they are covering, but with a forecast 10% dividend I would have thought that they would be given the benefit of the doubt. What I do suspect is that the brokers do not understand the company yet and so have set low target prices. Time will tell and in the meantime looking forward to the 2 x 6.25p divis early next year and the special divi which will come later. Maybe the market will then rerate them after their 1st set of accounts.Maybe some PR would help ?Hope the company reads the BB's
Two points I suspect that the market is wary of two points;Negligible shareholdings outside of original private equity holders. A big outside investor needs to come in eg Neil Woodford.Share price is quite a high multiple of NTA. Due to private equity holders selling some assets.Apart from that, the shares look pretty good value and hold out the prospect of high dividends. I'm a firm 'holder'.
Re: Good IMS What does the market NOT like ? I think too few know of the dividends proposed here. I hate rampers so we will just have to wait. It will come early next year or we can be comforted by the dividends (hopefully sheltered).
