Offer Price Nice to see us so close to the 130p!!Just as well I am having a session with the guys tonight, might need it. Alcohol is never the answer as we all know, DYOH.
Will it get approval? Some reports that as the feedback the Board got from shareholders was evenly split on both proposals. Seems to be why the price has dropped along with the market downturn and GVC price down 4%. Is nothing simple with this business? Just get the deal done and let's all move on as I can't take any more of this. Aaagghhhh. Perfect storm at wrong time.
You Couldn't Make It Up The acceptance coincides with all the market volatility. As a result, GVC shares down and instead of us seeing a nice uplift, we are flat. Only with this share, unreal. Goes ex-div next week as well.
Re: Why no RNS? DB,Thanks. So it's for each Bwin share it's 25p + 0.231 x each GVC share currently at about 430p equating to a current total of about 124p.But why did iii not include the RNS in their news system?Cheers, RAC
Why no RNS? Reports in press and CNBC of GVC takeover but no RNS detailing terms etc. Why?Cheers, RAC
Re: 888 Offer Today's Daily Telegraph:[link] that GVC wins with improved offer.Cheers, RAC
888 Offer According to various reports the offer from 888 amounts to only 115p. This does not compare in any way to the 130p on offer from GVC even allowing for some issues that we may not be aware of. Interesting that the new offer price was kept under wraps and one of the clauses includes increasing the break clause fee to 1% if they go with GVC instead of accepting the recommendation they had already made to shareholders at 105p.The Board would have real trouble in getting the lower figure across the line in my view and GVC Chair has indicated that they would go hostile if BWIN don't pick them. That would make it very interesting and delay things even further. This could run and run.
Looks like..... The Board playing another blinder. Bidding war and price goes down!
Re: Find Out Tomorrow Update states that 888 has come back with another offer which is not specified in note. Board say they are now considering both and will revert again in a few days. And the saga continues in to another month, so almost a year on since first muted, unreal.
Find Out Tomorrow ...which offer the Board will be running with according to reports. Predict that GVC will go to 130p and 888 will walk away as I can't see them upping their original derisory offer by 25% give or take. Anything north of that figure is a bonus but last weeks update was quite well received, albeit I think some of the commentary on regulatory& legal issues buried in the text was worrying. That is why I am keen to get a deal over the line and get out of this bag of spanners even with a smaller loss.As ever, god luck to all long suffering holders. Just noticed my typo, but decided not to change as we need all the luck we can get.BM
Re: Offers It looks like BWin have given GVC management time until Tuesday morning to make their final offer, so we may not hear much in this respect with results on Friday. One way or the other, end game is here now.nk
Offers Having read the various updates under the 'News' tab above and on Google etc. I get a strong feeling that the Board may have been swayed by GVC. The Board have asked GVC to now go and come back with their best bid, so will be interesting to see if they up it, even by a small amount. So what do 888 do now? They have issued a statement saying nothing has changed, but if they want BWIN now they will need to up their derisory offer, and rightly so. They might throw teddy out of the pram and just walk away, but I doubt it as this is probably the jewel in the crown of the businesses that are left. Look at the impact of the Paddy and Betfair announcement on Ladbrokes and Hills, so they may feel that it is now or never. As a holder, unless the BWIN Board mess it up and both walk away (unlikely), I can only see an upside for us. As I have got my fingers burned on this one over the years, I am not counting any chickens. Results from us and 888 tomorrow, so will be interesting to see performance and whether eye still on the day job.
Re: From Mail You may be right. Remember, this has been going on now for almost 9 months and we are not talking a huge conglomerate here.
Re: From Mail I personally expect a deal to be sealed by Friday (i.e. alongside or before the results). Let us see.nk
