Interesting day The share price is looking super vulnerable at the moment, and there's clearly a hefty seller out there (Ignis)? I held a few of these, but sold (at a loss) at about 6.5p. However, they've been on my buy watch since, and I consider them a potentially very good, but VERY long-term buy. With that in mind, I managed to snap up 20,000 of them at 4.25p today. I'm aiming to buy a lot more than that eventually however. There was a fascinating piece from an oil magazine, written by someone at Borders a while back. I can't seem to find it now unfortunately (anyone have a copy of it??), but it looks likely to me that there's a fair amount of oil in Borders' acreage. I remain doubtful that they'll drill this time around (and I've been told as such by one of the falkland oil firms), but with oil prices beginning to recover, I want to build my position before sentiment turns.Still plenty of risk though....Apologies for the meandering post...
Re: Darwin update boosts Borders and Sou... Well that was that idea down the pan. I guess the only plus at the moment is Argies aren't taking BOR to court. Not that it will come to anything.
Re: Argos SFB too expensive to drill with POO where it is. Give it a few years and POO will be back above $100.
Re: Argos I sincerely hope not!
Argos Argos have thrown in the towel. Can't raise any cash. Time for Borders to do the same?[link]
Re: RNS $3million ?? more like over $7 million!End December 2013 ....$23.3MM End December 2014... $16.08Share-based payments are likely to increase in 2015, 2016 even at these low sp! Running a ''a strict budget in this current low oil price environment'' or not, with $ 7 /annum spend, the outlook looks bad for ALL!

Re: RNS What a doom and gloom outlook! So what's the 3 million been spent on this last year?
Breakeven Only 25p way from break even now!!! Think i may have to leave these shares in my will for my kids! (I am only in my 40's!)
Re: RNS ''Our aim is to secure partners as soon as possible in the hope that we can take advantage of the rig's location and negotiate a new contract at the end of its current work schedule. If that proves to be unachievable in the current environment, we would seek to mobilise another rig as soon as we have secured funding. In essence, this latter scenario would be similar to what we did for our 2012 programme when we negotiated the Leiv Eiriksson drilling rig with only two firm wells. With rig demand and rates now much reduced, the capital commitment is likely to be materially lower and the number of available rigs is likely to be much higher.''It's a waiting game.----yep, maybe if they didn't play down their own find, they would have a partner by now? RNS Wakey Wakey
Re: Darwin update boosts Borders and Souther... Picked up a few of these a few weeks back. Can't imagine they'll drop more and I do fancey the have something up their sleeve. Perhaps if Diomedea doesn't go well they can pull off something with FOGL or Noble. If Diomedea does go well then perhap the SFB just go a whole lot more interesting which couldn't be bad either.
Darwin update boosts Borders and Southern Back in 2013 lets not forget what we have [link] Falklands-focused oil firm said that initial reservoir engineering studies suggested 130 million to 250 million barrels of liquid could be recovered, with a mid-case of 190 million barrels. However, recent studies have shown that, if there is strong aquifer support, the mid-case could be as high as 210 million barrels.
Re: Sunday Times: sell Borders Does Danny boy do anything else with his life other than knock FI oil companies ? It is a shame not to be involved and to be relying on others for an uptick, but at least we can stay on our road to nowhere for quite a while with our $20m and minimal costs. Hasn't Danny heard of Argos ? He could really go to town there !
