Re: RBC downgrades Thanks RA, that's what I was after
Re: RBC downgrades [link] today's Telegraph:"Fast fashion e-tailer Boohoo.com slumped to a 13-month low after City analysts warned that the breakneck speed of its growth could hit the buffers unless it resists the urge to hold back much-needed investment to boost profitability.Once the junior Aim markets rising star, Boohoos valuation has shed 45pc, or £1.7bn, since squeezed margins at the own-brand clothes seller spooked investors in September.RBC Markets analysts predicted that Boohoos share price could be driven lower if management is tempted to protect profit ahead of investment, sending it sliding a further 6.8p to 141p on Wednesday. The City praised the heavy investment in technology at rival Asos, but Boohoo could find it a difficult balancing act lifting the pressure on margins to please restless investors while ramping up investment to maintain its stratospheric growth. Its offering to customers is not competitive enough to sustain high levels of growth and industry peers have shown that investment is needed to keep on snapping up market share from its struggling high street rivals, RBC told clients, slashing its target price for the company from 160p to 125p."Cheers, RAC
Re: RBC downgrades Thanks for posting Pedlar & Iom. Is there any background/reasoning to their downgrades or just a simple sp prediction ?
Re: RBC downgrades boohoo.com: RBC Capital Markets reiterates underperform with a target price of 125p.
RBC downgrades a down grade to 125p from 160p...
Re: Downside Targets Some of this could be people booking losses against gains for the year end. ---------- Could be Dimm but you hear that a lot at the end of a tax year but your average punter will hold this in an ISA anyway so not so likely - The fact is BOO is firmly in a downtreadwhich will probably continue until the results are out. Which way it goes after that will depend on what's in there, profit warnings, forecasts. All that kind of garb.
Re: Downside Targets Some of this could be people booking losses against gains for the year end.
Re: Downside Targets It s getting spanked - Critical point here and the fact that yesterdays bounce was so weak (sold straight down) does not bode well. We will see
Re: Downside Targets Sadly, Boohoo being "kaned".Cheers, RAC
Downside Targets Tested the low 140s yesterday and looks like it may have another go this week. If preached 120s on the cards if everyone starts getting nervous ahead of the results. Interesting to see whether a good buy is low 140s or 115-120. Good luck all. It's the looming results and the director sales that's causing the nervous. Once out the way should/could do better
Re: Email off investor relations Yeah I understand that, the email added this though...However it should be noted that the release of Preliminary Results will mark the end date of the closed period under MAR, if the results for the Full Year results contains all the key information relating to the financial figures expected to be included in the year-end report.Hopefully when results are out we might see some share buys off the directors. At the end of the day they have a better idea than anyone about the companys heading and if so would likely boost the sp a fair bit? Because since the share price has taken the hit they havent been able to buy or sell their shares?YI
Re: Email off investor relations There is what is called a 'closed period' when directors are forbidden to buy/sell shares.
Email off investor relations I had a few questions about boohoo director dealings and selling of shares etc, and whether with a decrease in share prices it was likely for directors to show support through acquisition of shares.Apparently with their preliminary full year results containing majority of the full year information they are withheld from dealing shares 30 days prior to them coming out at the end of April. Which taking into account the dealing days is 6 weeks and thus havent been able to buy shares for the past 2 weeks. Not sure what to take from it but maybe we might see more deals after preliminary results as the period will be overYI
..whats good for Tencent is good for ... This is what a portfolio manager is saying about Tencent ........." The company's sheer size has prompted caution among some investors. Eric Moffett, a portfolio manager for T. Rowe Price in Hong Kong, said his fund has owned shares since he started managing it in 2014.But the fund has underweighted Tencent for the past six months due to valuation concerns, he said. He said shares, trading at 40 times projected earnings, look "priced for perfection" -- which can prompt sharp pullbacks, like that seen last week ."..... translate that ratio for Boohoo and ASOS ........SAGE
