Re: Big Drop Today Hardcore, you're the ever present 'doom and gloom' merchant on these bulletin boards. Why don't you be honest with everyone here and state you haven't a clue what's going to happen in the EU? I highlight your sentence below and put words in 'BOLD', that are pure and utter speculative 'tripe'!!!''Cataluyña, this COULD be dynamite, it COULD bring down the whole Spanish banking system as well as the EU.' Yours frustratingly. M.G.
Re: Big Drop Today Cataluyña, this could be dynamite, it could bring down the whole Spanish banking system as well as the EU. The story gets more tense by the day!
Re: Big Drop Today I assume trouble in spain??
Big Drop Today Anyone know any reason for the large drop today? Trouble in Catalonia maybe? No RNS or ex-div that I can see.GLASjt55
Can anyone enlighten me about the RNS today re stabilisation? Never come across it before.
Another Spanish bank close to collapse www.wolfstreet.com/2017/09/10/next-spanish-bank-teeters-liderbank/"Before its collapse, Banco Popular undertook three capital expansions, to the tune of almost 5 billion. These operations merely forestalled the inevitable, at great cost to the banks gullible investors. Now, Liderbank is about to follow the same path."

Heavily oversubscribed Well, I got a grand total of one extra rights issue share out of the 573 I'd applied for.
Re: New Shares Sorry 1 for 10
Re: New Shares The 10 for 1 script was issued and added to my account end of July.
Re: New Shares The new shares could be purchased by UK share holders if they were in a brokerage account ie. not held by Santander in their crest account. As the shares had no value it was not possible to go through each Crest account and allocate a new share to be purchased, (if wanted), for every 10 shares held. This was not like a SCRIP share which had a value in relation to a dividend payment.
Re: New Shares I think I read somewhere that the rights issue could not be taken up by British share holders. The excuse being timescales?
Re: New Shares I think that it was stated that the "rights" were purely the right to buy more shares at the discount price, for every ten shares that you held you could, if you wanted, purchase one new share at the discounted price but the "right" had no value in itself.
Re: New Shares So was there no value to the rights if they were not taken up?
ex dividend date Depending on where you look, the ex-div date is given as 27th July, 1st August or 2nd August. There seems to be no way of recognising a corresponding sp drop.
