Telegraph- Questor "The Questor Column:Hold Bloomsbury as academic expansion pays off: Harry Potter publisher Bloomsbury reported a solid set of annual results last week, and the strong cash generation and steady dividend. Book sales were given a boost with a 29% growth in the boy wizard titles that were reissued with new cover illustrations. Childrens and educational titles increased revenue by 13%, to £26.6 million, for the year, and this helped offset a weaker performance in adult books, where revenue was down 10% to £49.9 million. The companys shares collapsed in 2007 after bestsellers slumped during the crisis. The company is rapidly increasing revenue from academic titles and bought law publisher Hart in 2013. For the group as a whole, the pretax profits edged higher, to £9.6 million to the end of February, up from £9.5 million a year earlier. Revenue also crept up 1% to £111.1 million during the year. This steady performance gave management the confidence to increase the annual dividend by 5% to 6.1p per share, with the final instalment going ex-dividend on Aug 26, and will be paid on Sept 23. City experts are predicting that full year pretax profits will increase to £12.7 million, on revenue up to £116 million, giving about 13.6p in earnings per share. Bloomsbury isnt delivering stellar growth rates, but then with a steady profit performance and dividend income it doesnt have to. Questor says HOLD. (at 181.25p)
Hold for now Looking to sell at £2 if poss, maybe later in year.
Results Reasonable performance in light of having to make up for a decline in profits in adult fiction after last years good performance.I get the impression we have to continue to add on businesses,ie purchase of Osprey, to maintain/grow business.Like most of the market not a screaming bargain but continue to hold.
Re: Shares Hi Sunninghill,I did hold far too many but sold out when they were well in profit. I am watching the price for weakness and the trend still points downwards so I might be able to buy at a good price again. I am very liquid at the moment as the market is relatively high and there are lots of clouds about. Just biding my time for a good entry price. The Buzzps Do you live in Sunninghill Berkshire? (many of my relatives lived there and I very nearly went to school there many years ago!).
Shares Have just sold two lots 2000 at £1.62 and 2500 at £1.53 just got fed up with waiting but still hold 5000 had to many shares in this was hopeing for takeover at some time but it's been years and I had to pay off some bills. The share may go up some day?
Where is the IMS? It's me again! I was looking at the share price and noticed that it has been progressively falling. There is currently quite a divergence in an overplot of the FTSE350 index on BMY. Is it concerns about the business or is BMY being under-valued?I had a review of their RNS's and noticed that there has not been the usual IMS around 16th January. I know that they have recently acquired Osprey, but that should not have stopped an IMS. Delayed results usually mean bad news. Not so sure about delayed IMSs, but makes me wonder. The B
