Re: Undervalued IMV I have been a shareholder here for over seven years;it has performed modestly, based on share price growth of other shares I hold and the market generally, from a capital growth position but paid out reasonable dividends particularly when measured against original cost.I think valuation is presently reasonably fair;if interim results to be published shortly are satisfactory we might see a modest rise.

Re: Undervalued IMV HiyaBMY is a stock I have kept an interest in but never actually bought. Your post encouraged me to consider it again .The share price has been in a tight range for 4 years and gone nowhere really and the operating profit has been pretty static over that period too at around £12-13m. It would be Ok if it weren't for the fact that we have had pretty good economic conditions over the last 4 years. I believe the next 2 years will be a lot tougher and I just don't have the confidence that replacing physical publishing with on-line is going to give the share price the boost it needs. The reported return on invested capital has fallen from 9% to 7% over the last couple of years so maybe its not a great move. Looks a decent company though just not for me at the moment.good luck

Undervalued IMV 20 years of dividend increases and still about 2 X dividend cover, with net cash on the balance sheet. The digital resources side of BMY may prove a longer term attraction.First post on Bloomsbury in about 18 months, anyone interested or have a view?.

Re: First purchase I thought they looked good value at first but I expect a worse results next year after their tax rate goes up to 25% and they pay out the £2m to develop their digital channels.Personally I think there'll be an opportunity to buy in more cheaply.

First purchase First purchase today of BMY shares, seem good value to me.......

Re: Directors I think they have sold a portion of share option awards to cover tax liabilities.I think the largest Director shareholder(Nigel Newton) holds a million or so shares.Frankly as in most quoted companies I think directors are fully rewarded for their performance which has been decent rather than spectacular.Frankly in today's or for that matter any market, and I write as a holder, I don't think the shares are worth 200p; around 150p/12 times earnings nearer the mark based on present information seems more reasonable.

gamesinvestor 01 Feb 2016

Directors If Bloomsbury is such a solid company, why are the directors so consistent sellers of their own stock at seemingly modest or even low prices compared to what it's forecast and supposed to be trading at -- i.e. over 200pLatest dealsTraded Action Notifier Price Amount Value20-May-15 Sell Nigel Newton 175.00p 132,651 £232,139.2514-Jan-16 Buy Richard Charkin 149.04p 59,701 £88,981.1114-Jan-16 Sell Nigel Newton 149.04p 43,902 £65,433.5614-Jan-16 Sell Wendy Pallot 149.04p 22,101 £32,940.3514-Jan-16 Sell Jonathan Glasspool 149.04p 10,068 £15,005.81 More director dealsLargest deals (365 days)Traded Action Notifier Price Amount Value20-May-15 Sell Nigel Newton 175.00p 132,651 £232,139.2514-Jan-16 Buy Richard Charkin 149.04p 59,701 £88,981.1114-Jan-16 Sell Nigel Newton 149.04p 43,902 £65,433.5614-Jan-16 Sell Wendy Pallot 149.04p 22,101 £32,940.3514-Jan-16 Sell Jonathan Glasspool 149.04p 10,068 £15,005.81Games

Re: takover I have been a shareholder here for around 6 years and the company has delivered an above average income and a worthwhile increase in value.I agree it represents good value & post Harry Potter boom years has built up a good selection of niche markets and will hopefully continue to progress.A continued hold for me but still a worthwhile long term buy at present price for those looking for a new investment.

catsick 22 Dec 2015

takover just bought into these, what is not to like, looks like the xmass period will be decent and the company is doing a good job of growing its footprint in the non Amazonified part of the market. The takeover announced today looks like a nice opportunity, we have a forced seller who is being made to divest a small part of a larger business it is buying so it looks like the terms are very attractive at 1.5 times gross profit. The high value IP part of the business is expanding but the business is being priced as if it will be killed off by amazon, I think the reality will be the opposite they will build a high IP business with annuity cashflows bit by bit like this takeover indicates, no debt , nice div , micro market cap for a high profile business .....

Flower ready to bloom? The DailyTelegraph still appears keen, naming it as one of top ten Stockopedia screened "buy and hold dividend shares that appear undervalued" in their article 18th August. Having paid a flat or rising dividend for over a decade, particular mention was made of 2.2 times dividend cover and modest P/E. Fund manager Paul Mumford quoted as saying the one share he would buy and hold forever. With good catalogue, low debt and decent cashflow, now possibly better positioned this year than for some time. Its resilience should allow progress if markets stabilise.PB
