Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Hi readerIn short I don't know. Never have known and never will. I've just been following this for quite a while and trading it a bit. Not being greedy or clever, just little gains. I'm really looking more at the sentiment of the commodity markets and the opportunity here. It could well bounce again on Monday and I'll have missed that boat, but if it doesn't and I can get back in I'll have another crack. If I do get back I'm aware of the downsides and even with any court case and/or huge fine I think this share is extremely cheap long term. So much so that one day the £9ish figure I look to for getting out will be surpassed comfortably. Good luck if you get in yourself.

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days OK Shanks, so am I going to get my sub £8 do you reckon? Are you going back for more sideways action, if so at what price?Regards

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Well done shanks. I sold on a limit order today at 882.70, having bought at 7.93 on 9th May. That wasn't the only trade as I also sold a long position at 9.44, think it was 19th April. I also wanted to sell on the previous rally at about 8.76 but missed the opportunity because I went out, didn't put a limit order in and then lived to regret it. Been doing a good business in BP recently as well, currently remaining long in case I'm wrong with BLT.I absolutely agree with you. Oils and miners very tradeable atm, especially these two. But I do think BLT will be in demand going forward. You have to make hay while this situation presents itself because the only other way to maximise profits is to do some serious research and get lucky and that method looks iffy right now.Got some other good spreads going. I like the sideways action.pasak

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Could have got in for as low as the early 790's reader61. I got 3 lots in the end at 807, 799 and 794. Just sold them all just now for a very nice profit. That's 3 trades in the last few weeks where I've roughly made at least 10% on each trade. First one was quite a bit more. Up around 40% in total just by following this and making a small profit.I'm still convinced that the commodity market and this share in particular are a good long term investment but I think the current sentiment and market volatility make this a good one for short term price movements. I'll miss probably the boat when it does take off and maybe it will this time, but i'll wait and if opportunity knocks I'll be back in

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Not proving easy to get in under that £8 mark, wonder if Brexit will affect that either way?

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Back in just now - got a smidge under 8

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days The lawsuit will affect the share price more temporarily than long term. They will start high and compromise.I got out again in the 860's making just under a quick 10% return and am watching to see if it goes back to 8's again. Think this is trade-able for a while though I fully expect it to rise substantially - when is the million dollar question!

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Yes but WHAT ABOUT the lawsuit?? Is the yield now only 32p divided by 800p so approx. 4% and probably catalysed by the prices and impending suit?

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days I agree Shanks Pony, commodity prices will recover in a big way at some point in the future as sure as eggs is eggs. Billiton is a strong company that can withstand a prolonged period of depressed prices and product demand. The questions are has Billiton passed its low point and when will the commodity markets truly show sustained recovery.Once the recovery is underway more money will potentially be made from the upward movement of companies like Anglo American but that and similar companies currently struggling have to survive to capitalise.Traders are no doubt enjoying the volatility but it is a much harder call for holders.Good luck with your buy today.

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Back I'm at under 800 today. Think this is overdone once again as is the entire commodity market. Personally think that this sector will be the most likely growth area price wise over the next few years, though it may be a rocky road on the way.

The Petition is gaining support Apologies for board hopping but-The petition is going quite well; ~4600 signatures so far. Although it really needs a turbo boost.[link] petition was stalled in parliament since 12th Aug 15; finally green lit on 12th feb 2016.The FCA don't even reply on the matter, now is your chance to have your say.If you hate seeing buys reported as sells etc!!!!!!Has already been sent to Martin Lewis, Daily Mail, Moneyweek & Watchdog. My local MP supported this petition by writing to the petitions committee to help un-stall it.There’s 650 MP’s in Westminster, So have you written to your MP? 649 to go!If this petition doesn’t reach 10,000; then imo we might as well have not bothered as it will almost certainly be filed B1N; @ 10,000 the government should respond. We are currently getting approx. 100 new signatures a week, but need 3x that amount to reach the target with only 15 weeks to go.At 5000 I will send this to the PM & the chancellor as well as my MP again. So – If you haven’t yet signed or indeed have but haven’t passed it on to others, then now’s the time to do so. If each person who has signed can get just one other person to sign then we will double the total immediately. I have posted to all aim listed gas n oilies, currently doing the footsy 100. But I can only do so much to push this. Really need you guys & gals to help. Thanks to all who have signed so far.We really need a social / media savvy individual to help generate more interest in this.

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Won't the lawsuit seriously crimp their business if not bankrupt it? It's twice as much as BP oil disaster isn't it? Appreciate the lawyers will be entering feeding frenzy mode presently but even well defended they are going to have to cough up a big chunk of cash.

Re: BLT 20.5% in last 7 days Rhigos Did you sell in the end or hold? For a while I was kicking myself for having sold out too early but, as I kind of expected, it's heading back to the £7's. Now got to decide whether to risk missing the boat by holding out and seeing if it drops back further.

NEW ARTICLE: Chart of the week: Bagging a 30% profit "BHP Billiton hits my £10 targetI have been covering LSE:BLT:BHP Billiton since January when it was in a severe bear trend that accompanied the plunge in commodity prices.
