Re: Yes this is the one we've been waiting for. The terms of the loan are excellent given the current market conditions and should allow for sustained growth in the sp up to production

Well, looks like funding is sorted.

Re: Has to be a goer Shugg 1e, Rally, keep smelling; it is not going to happen. Do you really believe the 128p nonsense? Anyone who buys shares in gonabee companies and takes the advice of struggling advisors should be locked up for their own good. I don't mean prison, but a good care home!

Re: Has to be a goer WH Ireland seems to have to sell property to stay alive. Without such sales the company would have made a loss for three consecutive accounting periods and has been expending, rather than generating, cash. Given this, I would take their advice with a large pinch of salt. As for a target of 128p, they really are having a laugh!

Has to be a goer WH Ireland commented on quarterly results with "Buy up to 128p" See following:June quarter update – Salamanca uranium mine development progressing well Berkeley has issued its quarterly update today showing that all remains on track, with the planned early infrastructure work at the Salamanca mine project in Spain nearly completed and the first of the capital equipment delivered to site. The Front-End Engineering and Design has highlighted a reduction in capex for the mine in what was already one of the lowest capital intensity uranium projects globally. Corporately, the board has been strengthened with two new NEDs, one of whom has strong relationships in uranium marketing after his time at Rio Tinto. Contracted offtake has increased to 2.75Mlbs (from 2Mlbs), at terms similar to before, in other words over $42/lb U3O8; much higher than current spot and term prices. Longer term, Berkeley has commenced its exploration campaign to find new “Zona 7s” and has prioritised two key areas for further follow up. We maintain our Buy recommendation and 128p price target.

Re: Mail on Sunday tip ... and IC Investor Chronicle have this as a buy too in Friday's copy, although 'high risk' and 'speculative'. I suspect the company are putting themselves out there, which can only be a good thing.Slight signs of life in the uranium price too.We could be in for a little run. I say 'we' as I'm back in - holding 5%ish of the wad at 47.05.Let's see. Good luck all.

Mail on Sunday tip The King and Queen of Spain have just finished the first Spanish royal state visit to Britain in more than 30 years. Amid all the pomp, there are serious issues to discuss, not least the social and commercial ties that bind our two countries. In its own small way, Berkeley Energia is one of those ties – an AIM-traded company developing a uranium mine in Salamanca, just a couple of hours from the King and Queen's royal residence in Madrid.Midas tipped the stock in October 2016 at 47p. Since then, the group has raised $30 million (£24 million) by placing 54 million new shares with investors at 45p.Chief executive Paul Hatherley has beefed up the board, adding Nigel Jones, the highly experienced former director of mining giant Rio Tinto, and veteran fund manager Adam Parker, co-founder of investment firm Majedie Asset Management.Berkeley revealed this month that construction costs at Salamanca would be lower than expected, and last week a 45ft-high crushing unit arrived – proof that the mine is on track.Yet the shares have barely moved, ending the week at 45¼p as investors wait to hear how the firm will raise enough money to bring the mine into production. About $60 million is needed and it is likely that it will come from three sources.First, Berkeley wants a strategic investor – a company or investment firm with deep pockets and a long-term time horizon. There are names in the hat but nothing has been confirmed. Then the group is keen to sign 'offtake' agreements, receiving money upfront for future uranium delivery. One has been signed but talks are ongoing with other potential clients.Berkeley is still likely to be short of cash, so a limited fundraising is anticipated via the issue of more shares. The uncertainty places constraints on the stock price and the uranium price is stubbornly low, at about $20 a pound, down from nearly $50 four years ago. But this is not a stock for the short-term investor. The uranium price is widely expected to rise over the next few years. Production costs at Salamanca will also be among the world's lowest, at around $15 a pound.Midas verdict: Uranium is crucial in the creation of nuclear energy.Three-quarters of the world's uranium is produced by poorer countries such as Niger and Kazakhstan but two-thirds of demand comes from developed nations, including most of Europe. Berkeley Energia, based in Spain, should therefore see strong demand once it moves into production.Investing in early-stage mining projects is always risky but Hatherley is determined to pull it off and is an investor.Existing shareholders should hold. New ones should keep an eye on the financing arrangements – expected within weeks – and buy on any weakness.

Great news on costs Now this is what we do want to seeBERKELEY ENERGIA LIMITEDNEWS RELEASE | 6 July 2017 93.8 million), a 1% reduction over previous estimates, confirming the project's status as one of the lowest cost uranium mine developments in the world today. The project benefits from well-established EU infrastructure and a highly competitive cost environment combined with short lead times for major equipment items. The estimate for bringing the Retortillo deposit into production was prepared as part of the Front-End Engineering and Design ("FEED" by Amec Foster Wheeler Group, one of the world's largest engineering groups. The FEED is the execution phase of the project during which the overall engineering and process design is translated into equipment procurement packages and awards to specialist sub-contractors. A number of Spain's most reputable engineering groups have provided their input into the Company's study work, including Madrid IBX-35 listed companies Ferrovial and OHL.The final capital costs reflect all detailed design work carried out during the FEED, and resulted in an update to the nature and quantity of materials required to build the Salamanca mine, with costs from contractors and suppliers being amended based on final bidding packages. The FEED study reported that final up-front direct costs for the Salamanca mine are € 74.7 million (US$ 85.1 million), 1% below estimates from the Definitive Feasibility Study ("DFS" released in July 2016 (which used 1 April 2016 as the CAPEX estimating base date). The main drivers of the optimisation were:· An improved sequencing of the project· An update to the design of the Leach Pad· Improved materials handling· Optimised design of civils based on detailed ground conditions· Extensive procurement exercise optimising the sourcing of materials and contractor / supplier negotiations
