Re: Profit! Why sell now when its all coming together. can often take years for things to develop then suddenly whoosh. Saw it with OXB

pippin1 28 Feb 2018

Profit! Wow I am suddenly in profit! That's a bit unexpected after so many years where I have regarded this as one of my worst investing decisions.Should I sell or is there more to come???

Coffeee cups I know this is old news but I hadn't seen this article before. I wonder what progress has been made in marketing the product since then?[link]

Re: BIOME TECH-orders coming ? We can only hope so but the volumes traded are negligible

coldascheese 19 Feb 2018

BIOME TECH-orders coming ? Price moving up fast, is this an indication that we can expect news of a large order soon?Biome ,is only valued just over £ 8 million, has cash in the bank and into profit soon .The markets their products are for will grow into billions and for them to get just a small slice of that will do very nicely.Could even be a bid on the cards in my view-a tasty morsel for a large packaging company.

Re: Contrived rise or the real thing? Jez,I have never had flu, other than the man variety, what I believe the stronger half of the race call a heavy cold. I did once get mycoplasma/legionnaires and lost 2stone in 10 days. The only trousers that would stay up dated back to my SHO days. I refused to go to A&E at the w/e and went in on Monday, via x-ray and even I could see that all was not well. I sent the pictures to my chest colleague and asked if I could see him. He phoned back at 0730 and asked where I was, insisted I stayed put and produced something that worked where both amoxicillin and clarithromycin had failed. But I can imagine what flu must be like.Cognitive bias, esp loss aversion is as surgical as it is economic and I do recommend Kahneman. But to get back on topic: You did well to get some shares, best I could do was an up bet at £5 a point. I am not too concerned, this is almost a binary bet - one big order from Starbucks will be worth a few hundred pounds to me. If nothing heard to Sept I will have had carrying charges of a few pounds a week.Good luck with future purchases of BIOM (no self interest there of course) and for your investing in 2018.Best wishes,SeadocPS thinking of cancelling my Netflix subscription as the free entertainment channel iii-IQE is far more entertaining. Alas I note the volume of posting in directly related to the square of the increase in sp so realistically it must be time limited.

Re: Contrived rise or the real thing? Hi SeadocHope you are well. I have had an horrendous bout of flu, followed by a prolonged post viral episode, so have done very little posting or anything else for that matter. The IQE board has become very boring. I have sold most of my IQE shares retained about 300 so I can rebuy if I want to.I have had the best trading year ever and am siting on nearly 50% cash plus an 87% portfolio gain. Bought some BIOME on Monday will buy more gradually.Being ill is a good time to catch up on my reading. Just finished The new new thing by Micheal Lewis. I am a fan of Lewis. I read "The friendship that changed the world" in preference to "Thinking slow, thinking fast" by Daniel Kahneman for which he won a nobel prize. Bought some BIOME shares in the last few daysBest wishes for 2018 23Jez

Re: Do my eye decieve me! Relatively tiny volumes - nothing to suggest a major player has decided to swoop in. Need a really chunky sales order for that to happen

lazzadolphin 29 Jan 2018

Do my eye decieve me! I hope this is not another false dawn, like so many in the past. But here is to hoping!17% up must trigger a statement, no?

coldascheese 29 Jan 2018

Buy BIOME for biodegradeable cups + Biome share price now starting to move up as investors begin to realise that the host of biodegradeable coffee cups and other packaging products they have developed could turn this tiny company valued at about £6 million into a mega one.Not only that they have cash in the bank.[link]

Re: Contrived rise or the real thing? If they carry on with this growth the shares are greatly undervalued and will be re-rated as an IP heavy growth stock.

pippin1 25 Jan 2018

Re: Contrived rise or the real thing? Well today's trading update is encouraging. There may be life in this share yet!Why this doesn't appear on the iii site I don't know. They seem to be missing a lot of RNS announcementsBiome Technologies plc Pre-close Trading StatementBiome Technologies plc's pre-close trading statement for the financial year ended 31 December 2017 is set out below.Group revenues for the year were £6.2m, 36% ahead of the 2016 revenues of £4.6m.Revenues in the Bioplastics division were £2.3m, an increase of 44% on 2016 revenues of £1.6m. The Bioplastics division benefitted from an increase in the use of its material for the coffee market following the commercialisation of the innovative BiomeMesh filter material. The shifting perception of plastic waste both in public opinion and amongst policy-makers, particularly in the UK, provides encouragement for future growth in the use of bioplastic products. The RF division also had a strong year with revenues of £4.0m, an increase of 32% over 2016 revenues of £3.0m. The increase in revenues is attributable mainly to robust demand for the fibre optic furnace products underpinned by the roll out of infrastructure investment in telecommunications, including "5G", in Asia. As 2018 commences, the RF division has a strong order book which is ahead of that at the comparable point in 2017.The Group's cash position at 31 December 2017 was £2.3m (30 September 2017: £2.4m; 31 December 2016: £1.5m). The increase in cash year on year is a mixture of trading performance, working capital movements and the £0.45m received under the previously reported settlement agreement. The Board expects that the Group will record a small profit before interest, tax, depreciation, amortisation, and share option charges ("EBITDA" for the 2017 financial year (2016: trading EBITDA loss of £0.2m excluding the settlement agreement). The audited results for the year ended 31 December 2017 are scheduled to be published on 27 March 2018.-Ends-

Re: Contrived rise or the real thing? desertwolf,I make better coffee than most of the chains, so rarely buy one to go. If I did it would have to be in a biodegradable cup. I have a tiny long spreadbet on BIOM (should have learned better at SEO). Same boss, does he still race cats in Chi harbour?Regards, Seadoc.

Re: Contrived rise or the real thing? Yep and that where everyone is looking for biodegradable packaging, or did I miss there business model ... LOL ... Forgot they are only good at biodegrading money...[link]
