Share Price Could someone tell me why there isn't a bigger jump on the price now that the share holders approved? Shouldn't the SP be closer to the £13 offer? I hold a very small amount and paid £12! Will I see some profit at last?
Re: A minute to go! Damp,"the arbitrage opportunity as regards the mix of shares and cash that BG shareholders should go for."I imagine that, somewhere deep in the bowels of Shell Centre, (if it hasn't been turned into flats yet) there will be a few worker monkeys tasked with ensuring that the Shell share price remains reasonably close to the numbers (for As and Bs) which were specified in whichever 22 December document it was which laid down the reference price for the basis of the Mix & Match alternative. And if there aren't any such worker monkeys there damn well should be! It behoves Shell to do what it can to ensure that ex BG shareholders get whatever combination of shares and cash they want.[link] on the flybridge
Re: A minute to go! Damp,"arbitrage game over"The main arbitrage game is over, but another minor one is just starting ... the arbitrage opportunity as regards the mix of shares and cash that BG shareholders should go for.LKH on the flybridge
Re: A minute to go! Now down to 0.5%.........arbitrage game over
Re: A minute to go! Damp,The deal is done. RA Connell on the Shell board got the drop on me, but never mind. 83.08% of Shell shareholders voted in favour, which is a pretty spectacular endorsement of the deal. I hope the m^ppet Cumming off of Standard Life is feeling suitably mortified.A few more hoops to jump through, including the BG shareholders' vote tomorrow, and the Court meetings, but today's Shell shareholder vote was the one to worry about. T'others will go through on the nod, no worries. Now we're through that and into the sunny uplands. Hooray!LKH on the flybridge tracking steadily east
