EXPEDIENT??? I fear lack,of attention to detail in some of the submission documents may be our undoing... My reasoning? In the final para of today's runs they use the word Expedient, which means to do something quickly BUT immorally,! The correct word is of course expeditiously but it is a dreadful error considering the bribery and other implications.

Re: Hold 10p or back to 6p? (nm) It depends if you are going long (in which case who cares about these dips) or if you are happy to play the market and maximise profit as much as possible (in which case this is on a downward trend - no longer a reason to hold) jump out and buy back in at a lower price.I never really understood the rise in the first place, so I shifted my money across to AEX where a find has just been announced and the share is swimming in positive sentiment with an expectation of seriously good news in the next couple of weeks...... .1. The 28 Feb deadline is only a deadline for the CAB to respond to MI's questions, not for a licence to be granted. This was an extension and was announced by BEM on 16 Nov (check the RNS). The questions are: a. Does the Kallak North EIA contain the information required under Chapter 6 of the Environmental Code;b. Does the information contained within the EIA, for both mining and ancillary activities applied for by the Company, meet the requirements of Chapters 3 and 4 of the Environmental Code; andc. Does the CAB wish to put conditions, that could be attached to an Exploitation Concession if one is granted by the Mining Inspectorate, on the Company.2. The answers for the first two are likely to be yes. I've no idea what the idea to 'c' will be. All that those interested in BEM will get on 28 Feb is a better idea about the chances of a licence being awarded. My impression is that they are already pretty high and it will be something unexpected that will cause a licence not to be granted. MI seem to be on BEM's side, as does a lot of Jokkmokk etc. My impression is the MI are getting impatient with the CAB, hence only two weeks for BEM to respond to CAB's question posed at the beginning of Feb. The Laponia question may or may not be relevant, but from what I have seen on another board it is unlikely to be relevant.4. All this adds up to uncertainty at the moment. It remains unclear to me why BEM rose so quickly. But as with all rises based on sentiment, rumour and lemming mentality, the fall will follow when nothing materialises.5. Lucian Miers seems to be saying the same and has shorted.6. There may be a bit of a flurry around the 15th when BEM is to respond on Laponia, but we all know the answer will be a good one. The difficulty is WHEN is the licence going to be awarded. And then of course, it may not be awarded. Anyway, if you think it'll be a good response followed by a good rise, it may be worth jumping in the day before around 4.15pm. Regardless of the response, any drop on the day the response is announced by BEM isn't likely to be large. You may make more money elsewhere.7. I'm guessing CAB are playing a delay game with the expectation that BEM will go under - which it could if it fails to find funding in the future. That way CAB will have won. But I'm also guessing a licence will eventually be granted. I don't really know when though, and this has been the reason for the enormously dull movement of the SP over the last few years. There's been plenty of positive news without any shift in SP. The same beckons for the future. I think that's Miers's point.8. Of course, all imho. Good luck whatever you do!
Hold 10p or back to 6p? (nm) .
Lucian Miers ..SP "Blinkered retail enthusiasm" ... hes gone short."Been trying to obtain license for 5 years"."Hopes of green-light from "CAB " behind January rise from 6p to 15p".Claims first on Nifty Fifty ( before Wednesdays news ? ) Only £299 per year !!
Re: 2partacus/filberthefox Up 25% on restart of trading.
Re: Squeezing Juice I may be wrong but my jaundiced view is that all the agencies involved with determining the application are carping in their pants as they are scared of upsetting the liberal/left environmental lobby in the EU.Plus the Sami could always claim that their human rights to run around in their brand new 4 x4s chasing reindeer could be put at risk. Will sit back and wait for the flack?
Squeezing Juice My reading of this is that CAB know that there is no good reason for not granting the EC. Therefore they are trying their best to squeeze as much 'concessions' from BEM so that they appear to be looking after their community. The irony is that the community would love to have the jobs and prosperity that the EC and mining and ancillary services will bring.
RNS & back in market 2 mins!
Re: Avoid investing in Sweden IMHO I agree Carrots. Been out for a long time, was almost tempted the last few weeks but just had no faith that the Swedish Govt would deliver.
Re: 2partacus/filberthefox The news was being discussed on LSE site long before the RNS.Posters there were calling for beowulf to make an RNS ..Shares were suspended and announcement made over an hour later.
Avoid investing in Sweden IMHO This country needs to decide whether it wants mining to happen in it's various areas BEFORE they invite Companies to spend millions of pounds finding out if there is commercial whhatever or not.The way the Swedes have treated Beowulf in my opinion is scandalous.Luckily I sold all my shares a week or so ago @ 12p, having waited well over a year for them to recover from the last Swedish authorities induced setback.Miners beware... Sweden is a nightmare place to try to set up a mining Company... AVOID!All in my honest opinion.
