NEW ARTICLE: Trends and Targets for 4/01/2018 " THE FTSE (FTSE:UKX) Usually, the festive period is a "feet up" time with stock markets making pretend movements, designed to conceal prices actually being marched on the spot. Gleefully, we take full advantage of Scotland enjoying the 1st & ..."[link]
Possible upside Balfour Beatty offers recovery potentialA short but sweet full-year update from Balfour Beatty (BALF) has reinforced Numis view that the infrastructure group offers strong recovery potential. While the update declared the group was trading in line with expectations, analyst Howard Seymour took heart from the positive tone.Body language about confidence to attain industry standard margins and further increase balance sheet strength are both important and further illustrates why share price weakness on the back of Carillions woes is illogical, he said.We retain the view that Balfour has the strongest recovery potential in the sector couples with balance sheet strength, which makes it a key pick on a recovery basis in the construction sector in the coming year.Seymour rates the shares a buy on a 350p target price.

Re: BRIGHTER FUTURE AFTER CARILLION WOES? BBY does appear rejuvenated under Quinn and trading in some kind of sideways range. Will add if it can clear 275p again as US business picks up & cash is splashed.
BRIGHTER FUTURE AFTER CARILLION WOES? Is there a chance here for BBY to clean up or benefit in other ways from the disastrousperformance from its erstwhile predator?BBY should now be in better shape with Leo Quinn in charge so wondering whether onemans woes might bring fortune to another?
Re: Why the 5% rise? Balfour Beatty got a boost as Bank of America Merrill Lynch upgraded the stock to 'buy' from 'neutral' and lifted the price target to 345p from 295p, citing improved confidence in US, UK and Hong Kong margin recovery.
Why the 5% rise? Hi folks,Its a bit quiet in here. Anybody know the reason for today's rise?Cheers,F
Re: Wow This Board is dead Well UD I'm heavily into the preference shares in my SIPP. As these are convertible and redeemable in 2020 . So I have a vested interest in the ordinaries going higher. So I'm looking forward to the next leg up in the share price. Lets hop Donald splashes the cash.M
Wow This Board is dead Seems nobody invested (nor interested) here at all????
Re: Sold today @ £2.96+ good timing, at least in the short term.
Sold today @ £2.96+ Well waited 12 months for 35p.......Nice to see the recent bounce from £2.60 to £2.96 based on, I guess, outcome of US elections.Trumps on about considerable investment in infrastructure, roads etc, but I think this may flatten out once reality sets in. Might be wrong.......but out for the time being
Re: Overvalued - recent US deal good Certainly on a more positive footing after a string of bad news last year.a small Divi reinstated...A big dollar earning contract...recently announced.Good city reaction...
