Check out Facebook and Twitter This is off a well-known website and the wording is incorrect on the front page Will also impact on Imperial tobacco and others that have stakes in the UK .Its to do with them saying tobacco is harmless to nonsmokers and it actually is massive regulation will be brought in The sp of all tobacco firms will drop like a stone when this news comes out.[link] would choose another industry like Gold OR Oil

What your state could prove to be true, equally they could eventually prove to be false. Either way, it's a rumour.I don't think anyone is accusing you of false rumours per se, just that your information may have very little impact in the grand scheme of the BATS share price.IMHO.(PS switching the spellchecker on wouldn't be the worse thing to do)

Re: massive implication sell You may or may not be aware that we have stoptober and also go sober for October. I know the NHS through Public Health have spent a small fortune on these campaigns. New evidence has come to light that smoking not just tobacco, but even e-cigs is harmful not just to those who use the stuff but others who are in fairly proximity to smokers, so This is now a human rights issue, and there are some groups like ASH and other charities have informed the dept oh health about this.This means even though we are going out of the EU in March there could be legal action aginst tobacco Cos even though they have done everything they can to the packaging etc. It may open the floodgates for private litigation against many tobacco producers. It could be on TV really soon from what I have heard .Dont go short either as BAT may bounce all the way down say Q4 COULD HAVE DIV IMPLICATIONS ALSO

There is a world of difference between legislation that is about to be announced, and something that is merely on the political agenda. And perhaps put it in the context of BAT, for whom the UK is only a tiny market. I will say again, it is difficult to see anything that could have a material effect on the overall BAT SP... but I am all ears. Maybe you could explain your agenda, if we are not to take your headline "massive implication sell" as prima facie evidence of ill-intended sensationalism?

Re: massive implication sell "BAT will drop like a stone when this comes out and there will be no dead cat bounce forget any company announcements to the contrary that might say it a roumer trust me on this.."I'd be more inclined to trust someone who could come even remotely close to spelling rumour!Fortunately, smoking is already banned in most places in the UK where it could be banned, increasingly few people smoke in the UK anyway, and the UK is a tiny market for BAT... so I seriously doubt this would cause much of a ripple in the SP.If you want to go around trying to knock the BAT SP by spreading wild 'roumers' - always every so slightly futile with the handful of tiny shareholders on here in a multi-billion-pound company - then try telling people they are going to ban smoking in India or China?

Re: £50 A quite astonishing rise, but I sold out at £44.50. Maybe it will drop back to those levels at some point but as it stands it's not looking likely.
