Re: When is the launch? Why will it transform this company? It's laden with debt and where are all these deals management mentioned that again they've failed to deliver? its 10p for a reason, soon I suspect it to be 0p.
ATT and Verizon I would imagine they have their own experts and carry out due diligence so it was always likely that we'd be caught in the wash (or a ripple reached us) on the successful take over of Straight Path by Verizon. Both Straight Path and Avanti pinned their future on 5G and although I am far from an expert the mention of 39GHz spectrum seems common to both.At the moment it is speculation but any approach for our spectrum was always likely to come from the US imo. The control of Avanti is by US bond holders who also hold equity. They will know the value of Avanti far better than us febrile private investors. Today's purchases have been tiny but next week will be interesting imo."The $184 per share all-stock offer represents a discount of 17.8 percent to Straight Path's close on Wednesday and an equity value of $2.3 billion. The stock had surged nearly five-fold since April 7, a day before AT&T made the first move with a $95.63 per share offer.":- source ReutersA wet finger in the air guess would put us around 60p. I think the takeover proves there is a demand for Ka band spectrum.Be Lucky
Re: When is the launch? Don't won't to be gloomy but the share price has fallen every time they launch when the reality That it may be yet more capacity that they can't sell .If the utilisation rate went up to 70% it would be a different story .Alll the best
When is the launch? When HYLAS4 is operational the value should be transformed.
Re: BUY BUY BUY Seems good news maybe due at long last.Capitalised tick .Debts covered tickNew contracts tickGood luck AllAnd May
Re: Time is running out this is bust face it. Avanti is a pile of sh-it
Re: Time is running out I'm right with your there charlus!Frustrating as I sold out originally at 263 and then bought back in at 237 thinking I'd done well!Live and learn.
Time is running out for this lot. Elon Musk announced the first of 4425 planned internet satellites (yes 4425) will be launched by his Space X company in 2019.I have now written off my investment in Avanti and expect to get nothing back. A pity as I thought they had a reasonable proposition and a large market to target.Excecution has been appalling.Live and learn, my own fault for not cutting losses and bailing out a long time ago. Ah, the power of the well positioned stop loss.Cheers,Chozza
20 So not 20 quidNot 2 quidNot 20pMaybe 2pYours Optimistically vb6
Re: BUY BUY BUY? The owners of the satellite's? - probably the company who buy Avanti when it hits the financial wall in the next 12 months.
Re: BUY BUY BUY? AccypeteYup and it may not be unil 2020 + ???? but one day the take up of wifi will be just like the rest of the world .and guess who own the satelite slots ?Mel
Re: BUY BUY BUY? Extra capacity is no good for his share, its about selling what capacity Avanti have.Glad to say I pulled out of this share many months ago. They have failed to sell enough capacity in the past, I see nothing that's changed to sell more in the future.Sad to say, its a zombie of a share waiting for someone to pull the trigger.Hope I am wrong but they have had enough time to sort the sales side out, 2 more satellites will only increase the debt and repayments.
Re: BUY BUY BUY? So - could be a profitable share from here?Jack knife has a point about the bnd holders and short and curlies. On the other hand , if the 2 sats go up and more than double capacity , then enterprise value is worth more than the debt , if the capacity can be filled. Jaknife would argue there isnt a chance in hell, but it is possible. Certainly africa needs good broadband and Avanti can provide it. Avanti sales have been less than exciting , but you never know. It just seems that , just as broadband traffic has gone through the roof everywhwere else, africa's broadband access has to come soon.I am certainly not giving up on Avanti - however the company has not told us when the 2017 satelite launches are to happen> If they have I have missed that info. Can anyone advise ?Mel ( quietly polisjhing monacle mode )
Tumbleweed They needed an auction to shift 250,000 shares. Goes to show how illiquid this stock is.
Going to the dogs Interesting contract but who is Numerisat? They seem relatively small as are Bentley Walker who usefully open on a Saturday if you need a hoover for the weekend, handily situated at that hotbed of satellite innovation, Hayling Island. The Grande Odysee put my dog walkers at Trent Park to shame; they are hard core [link] still a minority sport. I ski regularly and my mobile always seems to work when needed on the slopes?I'm not knocking any contract win but we aren't seeing game changing new contracts and there is an element of always 'jam tomorrow' with Africa, but.....Why are the likes of M&G, MAST and Solus and Tennenbaum still here? And come to that, Paul Walsh the Chairman, he hardly needs the dosh.Making a profit is desirable but it hasn't stopped the investment in the likes of Uber and Teslar. In these areas the US take a longer view. The latest news seems to be a sop to long term holders and to show the company still has a pulse. Happy to be proved wrong.Nervous but holding.
