Half Year results Indeed, past performances notwithstanding, the stock is starting to look like good value. I agree, it looks like we are close to support levels for a bounce back. Perhaps time to buy!!
Half Year results Still got a (smaller) holding. Downsides are that fund management income will follow the market down, the possible weird legal claim in France (could be very serious or not), the need to pay out on annuities regardless of bond prices. Upsides come from better management generally. On balance seems like decent value now.
Half Year results No, still holding and will buy more on the imminent correction.
Half Year results Has everyone sold their position with AV?
Not happy 😔 The buyback should have bolstered the share price and his final bonus…? where would the price be now without the buyback, anyone done the sum on that? Why is the price so low? I thought they had money to burn.
Not happy 😔 These boards really are moribund - not so much as a flicker of interest in the sudden announcement and imminent departure of the CEO. Did the whole Pref share thing finally catch up with him…?
Not happy 😔 Their annoying TV adverts probabaly aren’t helping!
Not happy 😔 As I pointed out back in June, share buyback has done nothing to provide any sustainable increase in share price. Company should simply have paid surplus out as special divi. Meanwhile, price languishes at level little greater than 3 years ago and seems really to struggle to get any traction.
Not happy 😔 This share has been on a downward trajectory since my dividend converted to shares. Should we continue to hold?
Half Year results Die young and claim on the insurance
Half Year results That’s a news for me - how can you do it? TIA
Half Year results Dont forget you can get a discount on there products if a shareholder
Half Year results I’ve shrunk my holding in Aviva considerably. I’ll probably regret it, but I’ve based it on my view that if they can’t motor in the good times, how will they do in the bad times? I’ll maintain a watching brief. The shrinkage in the NTA particularly bothered me. It suggests that the route to improve EPS is share purchase rather than growing the business. Yes, I’m happy with CLIG. May top up again…
Half Year results I have a large holding in Aviva, held for the dividend. These are the half year results as I see them: Operating EPS 26.8p v 25.8p -weak Basic EPS 7.9p v 14.9p - poor, due to rising bond yields Operating profit £1.44bn v £1.46 bn - weak IFRS profit £376m v £716m - poor Interim divi 9.25p v 8.4p - designed to keep us quiet +10% - good, but barely justifiable COR 97.4% v 94.5% - weak, due to very poor Canada (losing money) NAV per share 411p v 423p - a lead indicator for me - poor I find the results disappointing, although the company is suggesting that 5% EPS growth for the year is possible. The management has still not got a tough enough grip, in my view. A weak Hold for me. Nice divi, poor growth, company not tough enough yet.
Weekend Press The Sunday Times: The German insurance giant Allianz is said to have been working with investment bankers for several months for a large-scale acquisition, with a possible takeover approach for FTSE 100 rivals RSA and Aviva among options being considered.
