Re: Results 10/02/16 DaveHughes,Thank you for link. I listed to conference call yesterday afternoon using link you kindly provided.I am convinced there was no good justification for SP to fall 4.6% on results.
Downturn? What downturn? [link]
Re: Results 10/02/16 Looks pretty good all round - probably best to ignore the market for the moment it doesn't know it's A from it's Elbow. 25% divi increase is good and the growth in revenue and profits were excellent despite the industry clouds on the smart phone sector.Probably all be washed under the mat in a year or so.Games -- In for the long haul.
NEW ARTICLE: ARM results lack catalyst " With a solid set of fourth-quarter numbers supporting a year of healthy growth at LSE:ARM:ARM Holdings, even boosting its dividend by a quarter failed to get the market to bite. Although the computer chip designer has not warned on profits for ..."[link]

Results 10/02/16 ARM HOLDINGS PLC REPORTS RESULTS FOR THE FOURTH QUARTER AND FULL YEAR 2015A presentation of the results will be webcast today at 09.30 GMT at www.arm.com/irI missed webcast, did anyone see it and if so anything of interest to pass on?From CSS broker:"ARM Holdings reported a rise in pre-tax profit in 2015, as it saw a strong performance in its fourth quarter with revenue up 19%.The company reported a pre-tax profit of £414.8m for 2015, up from £316.5m in 2014, as revenue rose to £968.3m from £795.2m, more than offsetting increases in research and development costs." I watched interview on Bloomberg TV this morning with Simon Segars, CEO of ARMThey took on 618 extra staff in 2015. Good margin of 50%. ARM technology in smart phones only 40% of business and so that with Apple considerably less than 40% yet SP of ARM tracking iPhone sales. More ARM tech in a car than a smart phone. This all suggests to to me strong growth moving forward. As CEO said being a high PE share bound to be volatile. Results were good so I think sharp SP fall of over 3% totally unjustified. In my view a good buying opportunity.
Re: NEW ARTICLE: Have We Reached Peak Apple ... "I think we've reached peak Apple, and that's a worrying sign for shareholders of both Apple, and ARM (LSE:ARM). ARM Holdings is, of course, the Cambridge-based designer of Apple's processors. Most rival phones have chips from other companies. So if Apple loses, ARM loses too."You have to wonder about the competence of some of these 'experts' when almost every rival smart phone use ARM technology!I guess he just saw that the processor is an Exynos Octa 7420 without checking that it is totally ARM; i.e. a Cortex-A57 plus a Cortex-A53 in a ARM big.LITTLE configuration. It also use ARM Mali graphics. So in fact if Apple loses, ARM doesn't!! (in addition, I wouldn't be surprised if ARM gets higher royalty from an S6 than a 6s)I've just noticed that iii got the article from Motley Fool; they need to be more careful about selecting their sources!
Re: Good news??? Imagination resulrs/tech sector more generally. Concern is that results due on 10th might be worse than expected. The market always semis to predict ARM results quite accurately.
NEW ARTICLE: Have We Reached Peak Apple Inc And ARM Holdings plc? "Ok, I call this the iPhone challenge. Take an iPhone 6s. Then take a leading rival phone, say a Samsung Galaxy S6. Cover the logos. Then ask people to compare the two phones.Have you tried the iPhone challenge?Let's start with screen size. The ..."[link]
Re: Good news??? General marketTechnology companies hard hit todayIt has a very high P/E which factors in above average growth so will always be hit worse than othersand specifically Apple announced last week sales of iphones to fall this yea
Good news??? Given the seemingly good news of the impending use of ARM in its servers, why has the stock price rocketted down in the past 7 days?
