Re: News in PLC's should be able to set and meet expectations for when they report major events including interim and final reports on its finances. It is extraordinary to suggest that ARL could not have known the date of its annual report more than 1 day in advance, an auditor's services are well planned and are usually not the cause of a delay - except when they find problems! Why are you making excuses for a multi-million pound company which ought to be able to do these things better, and as a listed company with public shareholders I would say it is obliged to be more informative and communicative?Every well run public listed company is expected to do so, AIM and main market.I am sure you are well meaning but what you have just posted is neither helpful or remotely correct.
Re: News in What makes you think that they will know these dates in advance? The Annual Report will not be issued until the auditors have signed off (and that can not be planned for an exact date in advance) and the AGM date will not be announced until the Annual Report is available (because of the notice period required).
News in the sleepy heads have just posted the following on the ARL website, as if 2017 has finally arrived:"201731 May 2017: Annual report29 June 2017: AGMTBC 2017: Interim report"
Re: How very frustrating If only it did ... the awful website is actually announcing last year's results on 26 May 2016, when I was a whole year younger. Apparently it has no idea of what lies ahead. Even for AIM this is slack. In conclusion, ARL's advisors Peel Hunt (with an aspirated "H" as in Jeremy), their team of public informationists including FTI Insulting, and the whole board are all very disappointing.
Re: How very frustrating Their web site does have a financial calendar. [link] says that the annual report is due today, Friday 26th. I had thought though that these things were usually published first thing, but it is not on their site yet. Happy birthday for yesterday anyway. Perhaps Atlantis will give you a belated present?
Re: How very frustrating Lol. Happy Birthday Mark. Hope you enjoyed the remainder of your day. ))
How very frustrating Still peeved at the rushed unheralded placing yesterday, I am now getting lathered that I can't see the FY 2016 results announcement expected (by me) today. It should have included post-end developments like the EU grant and various tie-ups not least Hyundai, to give my investment a supercharged boost. For some reason I wrote down 25 May on my crib sheet, but now I can't even find a reference to why, nothing from the various sources of public info - including the gimmicky difficult ARL website. Why would you have a financial calendar but not mention in advance when you are going to publish your annual accounts and report? Rodneys the lot of 'em.Going to find something less annoying to do for the rest of the day, it is my birthday after all.
Re: Placing Forgot my "BUY" recc, at this level I feel I must agree with bad.I'm back in by the way. Recent news flow regarding investment and partnerships have given me confidence although I'm still curious about the fate of the Maygen turbine taken offf line last month.TP
Re: Placing Of course what the placin has brought is a cash injection which makes the company's assets more valuable, so dilution in actual terms is minimal. What we need now is for the cash to be used wisely to consolidate the company's position in the world tidal stream generation market. (And not just "running costs" i.e. Directors remuneration!)The involvement of Hyundai is interesting, they don't just build cars, they have a major heavy industry base (for those who weren't aware) which looks to be a cosy fit with ARL's turbines.I see a steady recovery in sp from here on in and, maybe, just maybe, we can make some money here, albeit slowly. The wind may not blow and the clouded may obscure the Sun, but one thing is certain... the tide will ebb and flow roughly twice a day for as long as we want it !!Good luck, TP
Re: Placing Hi Mark,Yes, an additional placing without an option for existing holders to buy. Not great!!However, I have take the opportunity, while the price is depressed to top up my small holding. They are generating, so getting at least a small income, now have cash in the bank, and have some good projects in the pipeline. Cash flow is likely to be the major stumbling block from here, but current management seem capable.Hopefully when the placement settles down, things should look up. We will see what the results have to say.
Placing Well that all moved rather quickly, a sneaky issue of 9 million shares at 45p which was roughly a 10% discount, presumably to allow Hyundai to build a strategic stake while diluting and de-valuing mine. Not sure I enjoy what has just happened, one day ahead of a planned FY results statement. Somewhat over the head and with disregard for the ordinary shareholder.I will hold for some good news, but the next news had better be good, really good.
Re: Late RNS That was important news, but the market is completely unmoved. In fact the drift down to my add point at 50p has continued. Now if Hyundai had agreed to take a 20% stake at 100p ...If the income stream from MayGen has been cut that will spoil next weeks results, never mind that it sounds like it was the grid's fault. But overall ARL is in great shape and pursuing opportunities.
Late RNS Caught me out releasing it at 0819 !Nice to hear about the partnership with Hyundai, kudos working with a big engineering company even if they have just had to issue a recall order for 240k cars !Still nothing on the Maygen position though.TP
