Re: APH 60p Yes, the recently incessant upward progression also caught my eye. According to Hardman research, Alliance told analysts that it tried to make a £100M acquisition in 2014 so it clearly has the firepower for a transformative deal. I reckon expectation of a deal of this size may be driving the price up.

APH 60p Now I'm really wondering why the price rise is so prominent. P/E is no longer cheap, around 18 if I'm correct. Dividend was paid out on the 15th of July, so no strength behind this share price because of a upcoming ex-dividend date.. Forward earnings are looking good, debt is falling so I guess share price is reflective of the longer term confidence in Alliance pharma. Stable workforce and swift replacement for the FD.Secondly, the upward trend is a big break from APH's long term averages, I do believe the ceiling had been smashed through, thus led to become a 'strategic' buy for most (Systems/HFT more like...)

Re: ImmuCyst not to be reintroduced unti... Hello valueman, I was interested in your figure of about 20% ROCE as I always use ROCE's to evaluate companies. I would be grateful if you could let us know if this figure was taken from a particular source or was calculated yourself? Sometimes it can be a matter of opinion of what exactly you include in the calculation and I made the ROCE to be nearer 15%, although that may be because I calculated it at a different time. Thanks for the info.

Re: NEW ARTICLE: The insider: Patisserie Hol... Interesting note on Alliance Pharma. Glad to see insider buying as this is the type of business which may be difficult to evaluate from the outside owing to the significant ups and downs of its various products. There is also a recent note from Motley Fool which, rather bizarrely, compares Alliance Pharma with Astrazeneca on the basis that they both acquire products! It would be difficult to imagine two more different companies within the pharmaceutical sector.

Re: Pre-Close Update My god, I later re-read the statement a few hours later and what a tool I am! Totally mixed up the net-debt and the acquisition fund! Which obviously, £4 million in net-debt is great news! Oxtrader works up his next coffee..

Pre-Close Update Well, it's been quite a while since the last update.. Glad to see an improvement in some of the product ranged; yet a shame to see a sharp fall in some others. Does show that APH have a reasonably balanced portfolio and I'm sure Aston & Parsons will continue to make headway over the course of 2015 and become their flagship product, yet despite all this, a pretty big fall in cash without any acquisitions is, worrying. As this, both limits buying power and shows the company is having to use a lot of cash to maintain operations. Share price has improved over last month and sales do show it's a safe hold, but dividend holders might want to look elsewhere!!
