Re: Uranium Price Just spotted this link that shows a progressive increase in uranium into the future:-[link] note that APF's share price is still doing well at 149-150p and still slowly climbing. I have been pondering on the trade war and steel tariffs. If one assumes that the total steel consumption is unchanged then the coking coal price should still hold up. What is crucial is that the economies are not disrupted and that steel demand is not reduced.Perhaps something useful might come soon from he big G7 conference in Quebec.Out-take - it looks like the Fairmont hotel being used as the venue. I stayed there a few years ago - an absolutely massive place - what for just 7 people!! (plus entourage). The cost of holding the meeting here must run into millions of C$.The B
Uranium Price For some time the price of uranium has been weak. Do I perceive a bottoming to the price developing?[link] a start the price price for May 2018 of $22.73 is up, and is the first increase since November 2018. However what is perhaps more interesting is the long term price for uranium that has been regularly falling quite fast as it was noticeably higher than the spot price: this has held at $29 for the last 3 months, and is not that far apart now from the spot price (relatively speaking compared to the difference over recent years).I am beginning to suspect that with the UK building talking about building a second new nuclear power plant that uranium demand will still be there in the UK as the older plants are closed down. Another question is what happens elsewhere - and no doubt Dusty42 will update on the reduced production of uranium ore that is expensive to mine - and the potential slack in the market due to built up inventories being run down as high cost mines cease production? So if uranium seems to be levelling out at last, are we going to see a meaningful price increase that will boost APF's revenues??The B
Re: loaded up Hardly had I spoken when the share price moved up! Now 147.5-149.5p so in profit far sooner than expected and more importantly the ones I loaded up on are now well in profit. Lets hope the momentum continues! Not heard from scholomo recently? The B
Re: loaded up Still looking good. Price slightly higher at 146.2p for my top up of 2824 shares just now from a minor share trading account of mine. Price seems to have moved to 146-146.5p so nice tight trading spread and could soon be in profit with this lot.The B
Re: loaded up I am glad to see that you agree! Yes I have loaded up and showing a small profit on my latest purchases.Things look even better now than a few days ago with commodities holding up well.Nickel seems to be hitting a new high ( very volatile price but currently $15640)[link] the price of coking coal is holding up, plus the price of thermal coal seem to be on the rise. With the lower value for the £ the remittances should be good. Cold see 150+p a share within the month??The B
loaded up good place to re enter for another run up to 165p
Re: Kestrel Sale Update A twist to the tale. Saw trading at 144p so was tempted. Curiously the largest online quote that I could get was for 2500 shares. Hmm I thought. Sounds like that there are not that many shares about at that price. So put in a limit order at 144p and it is taking ages to transact. In the enquired what was going on - this was with a Halifax dealer. This is the explanation given!" Our dealers have been attempting to place the order since the tradeplan was created. The market price has been moving below 144p quite often which had prevented the order been fully completed all in one go. They have now managed to secure the full order now for you however and are adding the details to your account. "" The way a tradeplan purchase would work is by us leaving your request with the market maker to fill. However as this is done through another service on our behalf there can be a delays in terms of confirming to us that the order has been completed as they would need to physically call our dealers to inform them. Your order had been complete a little while ago but due to that communication delay we had not been made aware and could not update the account. "So I now own a further 9596 shares at 144p a share. So if my hunch is correct and some more buying interest is shown, then the share price might bounce a bit?The B
Re: Kestrel Sale Update Marginally better price, so just got 15k more shares at 144.32p. Really just reinstating some of the funds that I removed and put short term into another share where I have just made a quick profit. It is a joy to be able to buy and sell prices for reasonable numbers of shares (unlike some other companies) and the quote for 5k shares was the same for 15k shares. I still have a bit more fire power to recharge my holding, but will wait to see if there is a significantly better price. One is put in one's place when one's purchases seem to make not a jot of difference to the trading spread! So scholomo, I have been doing my bit to support the share price - I am really encouraged by the low £ to $ rate that should boost earnings, plus the royalty payments coming up all look good to me. What is the exit strategy - well no rush as there is a good dividend stream that has really boosted my income of late! I see potential for a short term rise to about 160p, but realistically we must be looking for over £2 in the longer term. The B
Kestrel Sale Update Today's RNS[link] sale of Rio Tintos interests in the Kestrel and Hail Creek coal mines and Valeria coal development project are expected to complete during the second half of 2018."Nothing earth shattering. Although I am watching the bun fight re steel imports to the USA. The coking coal market still seems to be giving good prices. Thermal coal is doing very well also. Nickel above $15000/oz at the moment:-[link] but the big thing is the fall in the value of the £v$ - this must be really boosting the receipts.I sold quite a few APF at higher levels. The price now seems to be in my buy zone again bearing in mind the market conditions. Just topped up with 10k shares at 144.52p. I might add a few more later if the price is even better? The B
Largo - Brazilian Strike [link] The strike does not seem to have had a material impact on Largo. The B
Investors Chronicle today I/C carries a long article (2 pages) on vanadium and its future: as readers of this site know, this metal has a significant future and is currently on a roll. APF is cited as a favourite to benefit.
sp All the hard work over the past couple of weeks gone in a flash. Now 155 bid
Re: Q1 Trading Update I guess that one could conjecture lots of reasons:-The statement talks about some loss of coal production and Mr Market read that as poor performance. Also the share price has been strong of late. Perhaps the market was hoping for the announcement of a super new deal? However, as I stated, anyone who followed this bb would have been well aware of these events - so Mr Market seems to be bumbling along not knowing what is going on!? He also seems to have ignored the forward looking statements implying that the revenue streams should be strong for some time to come due to strong commodity pricing etc etc. Just look at the rocketing price of Australian thermal coal eg $107.35/mt in Jun 2018(as a result of the increase in price of oil):-[link] B
Re: Q1 Trading Update Wonder why its fallen?
Re: Q1 Trading Update I agree: it continues to look good.Today is the AGM. Something may come out of that.Is anyone going? If so, I hope they will add their comments here.
