Re: ANTO trades Hi CasaI`m not surprised at gold, usually only in demand in times of fear.Base metals all seem to be doing well, copper up very strongly today.Markets generally I think are too high but they are shrugging off any concerns, seems to have been that way for quite some time now.One EM analyst was actually predicting further rises in base commodities as well as EM markets themselves.I don`t actually think there will be a crash or severe downturn.A correction, quite possible, would in a way be almost welcome.ATBsoi

Re: ANTO trades Hello soi,Gold and silver are at best becalmed or falling atm. That is emphasised and magnified by the mining stocks. I notice ANTO seems to be following that trend. Some big names keep mentioning about a correction and how expensive the stocks are, particularly in the US, yet investors seem ambivalent to the threats. I'm holding over 10% of my folio in precious metals one way or another plus a short on the FTSE. Due to its fall, I've also bought into IMB which also doesn't know when to stop the rot!What's your take on the market's current state please?Casa.

Just for your amusement,I see that in the latest Money Week issue NCYF is tipped with a "juicy 7% dividend". I think I told you that I had bought some a while ago and have since doubled my holding. I have bought some IMB due to its recent fall in price and its 5% dividend. Another opportunity cropped up yesterday when my attention was drawn to Connect, CNCT. The majority of it is the old W H Smith news which is mostly in terminal decline. However, the management have sold off some parts and paid down debt, maintained FCF and EPS to cover the dividend of10%. Normally this would be a sign of a likely dividend cut and a firm in distress but they have actually increased the dividend from 9.6p to 9.8p and are confident that they can grow the business and maintain dividend payments. The situation is not quite as good now because the share has risen from 90.75p yesterday to 112.5 today. Thankfully I bougt some at 93.75 including dealing costs. Even at the higher price, 8.5% dividend is still on offer. Take a look at Bill's postings on the CNCT board and you will see some very good analysis.Casa.
