ANTO Long @1005.01, +987.99, +922.92 3rd & last long here. Reasons: though Cu testing recent lows at $2.93+, gaps above here. Today's open 929, yesterday's close 943.50.Will look to settle all 3 higher than the gap & take out remaining short at same time. - GLA.

Re: Short: 549.56 - closed 959.30 Reasons mostly immaterial as a significant hit long-planned on any sharp dips from recent highs (1071+). Also that, for me, trading this has proved more a reckless gamble, than profitable venture. - Still one short left at 514.99 & 2 longs in another thread. Whilst Copper well down in recent days & we've renewed talk of China slowdown, an eventual increase in future demand liable to see strong price recovery later. One can't be sure of timing of course, but it seems a fair deduction. - ANTO also holding up quite well when FTSE well down. FWIW, hit on this trade, with ex divi & holding costs, almost £2.5K. Just under similar hit I took on far bigger ANTO long in Nov. 2015 (also posted here). Net hit overall will be less as I've also taken a lot of points on ANTO since opening this, but thats by the by. In context, though some lose far more, my account sees another significant setback with another hit likely later. Plan to now sit until both longs well in profit & then take out both longs & the last short for a much smaller hit. - GLA. PS: These hits on ANTO by far the biggest crystallised individual losses I've had in trading since starting 02/2009, though SBs since 02/2011. That gives it perspective. I don't do it often.
Re: Metal Miners lose ground: China slow... I meant to add that I think those longs of yours will come good on ANTO also, soi, when the Cu price bounces back up, assuming the stock responds to that.I didn't mean to imply otherwise with my earlier post, but realised that it might have seemed that way after I had made it. It was more a comment on the number of longs in a row, which looked unusually high to me compared to your usual ducking and diving.all the best, have to dashead
Re: Metal Miners lose ground: China slowdown Like you said a few days ago, JD, it'll all turn around as soon as there is some bad news out of China. Well, you were right - except I think this news was broadly anticipated by the markets, and most of the fall in Cu has already been done. We'll see. I 'accidentally' went long on copper around the $2.95/lb mark, which is a little too high, although nothing I'm going to end up stuck with I don't think.I still think we may see Cu test $2.85/lb support. I can't see it going lower .. <ahem>Eadwig, the Hubristic, setting himself up for a fall ...
