Re: CEO stepping down Get the feeling that the price was getting a bit frothy and with the sudden news that the CEO was giving notice of leaving in six months, it gave the MM the opportunity to knock the shares. The replacement CEO appears to be vary capable. Cannot see any reason to worry, however, if the price gets too low will probably add more to my holding
CEO stepping down I confess not knowing too much about who has done what so far with the company , but when I read the CEO was stepping down but being replaced by someone who'd been involved at a senior level for many years, I was not concerned, especially as there is 6 months notice for the change over; but the markets do not seem to like the news
Love this share With all that's happened in the market in the last week and we haven't moved! Spread still ludicrous shows that material news would really shift the price as clearly no market maker is holding inventory in any size. Anyone on L2 able to tell s what interest is on either side please?
Re: Institutional Holding Hardboy,"I think the shareholder profile gives me a lot of comfort here"Lord John Lee off of the FT is a shareholder here (he has 10,150 shares [cries of "How do you know that, LK?"]. He is a downy old bird. So that should provide you with a bit more comfort.LKH on the flybridge
Institutional Holding Downing LLP have just increased their stake. One of the things which is reassuring about ANP is its very high institutional holding - over 50% + 7.5% held by employees. This is very unusual for an AIM share. Having just got my fingers burnt on one fraudulent AIM company I was thinking of exiting all AIM stocks - but I think the shareholder profile gives me a lot of comfort here. I hold 5 AIM stocks - and 3 (Anpario, Bioventix & Tracsis) look legitimate businesses with trustworthy figures. I will certainly think long and hard before investing in an AIM stock again.
Cargill Worth a read...[link] if ANP were looked at.
Re: Nice company but... tejo, Agreed and you are probably right to be cautious. If I thought there was a serious growth potential in the stock price of a company I wouldn't be selling 60% of my entire holding. If I needed the money I'd sell some, but not more than half of my holding, it doesn't seem that logical. However, having had this one flagged up from reading John Lee's articles and blogs in the FT, I'm encouraged to keep looking at this one.Games
Nice company but... I do find it somewhat strange that the Directors have sold such a substantial amount of their holding irrespective of the fact that their holding arose from being granted options. The sale by Peter Lawrence is especially surprising because of his deep involvement with the development of the company and his interest in Eco Animal Health which is a very similar company, also doing well. Obviously, we know nothing of the directors personal finances, but given that Anpario appears to be successfully evolving into a very attractive investment opportunity, one would have thought that the Directors would have restrained themselves from selling as much as they have. maybe they are planning to award themselves some more juicy options -not that I would blame them. Anpario tells a good story and I am not selling any of my shares but have become a little nervous by these director sales and need to keep a close watch on the results.
Re: Nice company but! Just checked the news stories & MS is right. The 3 sales were purely exercised options which were sold as soon as they had been exercised (& leaving each of the 3 directors with a reasonable holding.) 3 other directors exercised their options and held on to them.
Re: Nice company but! I just sold £5250 worth of ANP an hour ago .. to add a specific quantity into AMC .. however, I firmly hold a much larger sum in ANP and will retain these, even adding in the future because I have every faith in this growth story. Its a great company with a sound forward looking plan and good management team IMO.
Re: Nice company but! Agree with MS - the 3 cases games listed leave the directors with £100k, £0.5m & £0.75m invested; and remember this is a small company, the directors are not earning FTSE100 fees. That's still a fair amount of commitment.
Re: Nice company but! The share price has been running up nicely just recently. I was hoping that it was the result of some insider knowledge and that we would get a positive announcement very shortly. With the directors selling I now assume that there is nothing on the short term horizon.
Re: Nice company but! I think you may find that most of these sales are the result of exercising options (presumably granted some time ago) to purchase shares at significantly below market price, then selling them immediately. I.E. they are not dumping shares which they have held for some time. Effectively they are taking this as part of their remuneration. Karen Prior - the Finance Director seems to hold onto to her options (9th March 2015), and buys more (10th Sep 2014).
Nice company but! All the directors are dumping their stock, so something is wrong here. You could understand it if it was a small percentage of their holdings or just one of the directors was selling but neither of these is the case :-Peter Lawrence - Non exec director has sold £154k worth on 26 May and that leaves him with only £97K, meaning he's offloaded almost 62% f his entire holding one shot and only 3 days ago.On 9th March the CEO sole £1.17M worth of stock leaving himself with just £556K's worth -- so again he's sold almost 68% of his entire holding.Richard Evans - exec Vice Chairman - also on 9th March sold £1.192M's worth leaving himself only £782K - so effectively selling 61% of his entire holding. This doesn't look good at all.Games
Queens Award A Queens Award is always nice to get, but I didn't expect it to move the share price much. Pleasantly surprised.
