On topic -- just hit 300.75 Up 2.65%Games
Re: Off-Topic Thanks Winningstreak, I just took a look and decided to dip my toe in the water. Can't really say it reminds me of AMS (the thing I love about AMS is that it has innovative products, INSE is a service company), but it looks cheap to me if the growth continues.
Off-Topic May I suggest a look at INSE to my friends here. Reminds me of AMS's share price being low at one time.Cheers,ws
Risen too fast The share price has risen too fast in my view. We could well see afall back to around 280p over the coming days, perhaps before theend of this week. Having said that, AMS remains a very good Company, and I remain a shareholder.ws
Nearly £3.00 Looks like the price has retreated... up 12 to 294.75
Nearly £3.00 What is happening.... last screen I saw.... up 17 to 299.75Any information anyone ????

Re: Director sales over £1m It is a little concerning that they took this action just a couple of daysbefore the AGM, looks like they wanted to take advantage of the frothy share price...ws

Re: New Target (Jennster) Winningstreak,Presumably with the AGM next week, new buyers at 280p+ are hopeful of more good news?Don't know much about the medical devices market but agree that AMS looks 'top quality' with an sp premium based on their innovation record, whereas Alliance Pharma is more about portfolio management-making the most iut of tried & tested drugs, so steadier growth & expectations. Can't believe AMS isn't on the radar of a couple of Alrger US competitors....All IMHO
Re: New Target (Jennster) Share price at near to 290p is in my view rather high, perhaps a little too high to be sustained. At this point in time Alliance Pharma looksan interesting alternative for those who are tempted to take profit.IMHO,ws
Re: New Target (Jennster) Hi Jennster:I think we will agree that It is impossible to know exactly what is in the minds of AMS investors. The only certainty is the SP itself and, much more importantly, the progress of the company over recent years, which, however it is measured, reflects robust, continuous, eye catching growth. The last financial report to year end Dec. 31st (which curiously came and went with no comment on this board) showed the company in rude health and expecting to raise the bar (increased share of US market, expansion in the existing rest of world countries and into new geographies, new products in pipeline). Why in recent weeks there has has been no significant retracement is, of course, something that is puzzling most investors. There are many who consider that the share is overbought. I suspect that the closer we have edged to 300p, the more everyone is expecting to reach that wondrous milestone (a 5% uptick in the SP would now be enough). One of those self fulfilling prophesies, it would seem. Moreover, AMS is carving out a share of the US market that will be putting the company on the radar of some bigger rivals, so (as I suggested in my last post) a bid situation could easily materialise. Are we, therefore, seeing the start of stake building by a predator or (more plausibly) buying in by those who reckon a bid is not far over the horizon. Such tactics may, of course, be only in the eye of the beholder and what we are witnessing may be purely and simply that the merits of this company as a safe haven for funds are becoming more and more apparent to investors who like to place their money with the promise of reward and without incurring too great a risk. PE aside (--it means little anyway in a company that is expanding revenue and profit year in and year out, just look at Amazon--), AMS is a company that ticks a lot of boxes. The other point to makes that we are now already five months into the new H1 and, while this is not a company known for leaks, there are analysts and institutional investors whose job it is to be ahead of the game and who know more about the actual shape of things at AMS than PI Joe Bloggs on the Clapham omnibus. My best guess is all of these things may be in the mix. My prediction would be a test of 300p and a sizeable retracement quite soon after that. But please do your own research. I must tell you that I still haven't made my first million yet...BB20
Re: New Target (Cantseewood) PE 38 apparently.
Re: New Target (Cantseewood) This continued strength in the share price with very good volumes (for AMS) is a bit worrying.I quote from the thread previously"Buying may now also owe something to speculation on the part of some investors that AMS must be attracting some attention from bigger players as a possible bid target."I really hope there are no bidders but the share price would hint there may well be? Even with AMS excellent track record, the PE must be in the 30s now?
Re: New Target (Cantseewood) Also sp coping well with some large six-figure trades.
