Re: What am I missing? Thanks chaps. I find it hard to concentrate on news, drama etc. these days on traditional TV. How anyone can watch the new BBC drama "1864" on the Piccadilly line is beyond me, but I suppose you have answered my queries.gla

Re: What am I missing? I have seen predicted that TV watching from "remote sites" (ie non TVs) is expected to exceed traditional viewing in the years ahead. If you travel on the railway or tube you see many folks are avidly using their tablets and mobiles, as are our children at home. What to folks do on a long journey in the car these days?

Re: What am I missing? Who knows about the future. But would you rather your Board took risks with the cash pile, or buyback the shares?

What am I missing? Re. Todays purchase of the Finland company. 13 times expected growth in "TV everywhere"!!Why would someone want to watch TV on a tablet "everywhere" or interact through a TV? Why are "Apple" successful with non-TV gadgetry ? Can someone explain to a possible older "dinosaur" investor what the real potential is here? Thanks

Re: sector comments - pace Forwardloop Interesting piece. Noting the comments about PACE making further acquisitions, does anyone think AMO could be on their watchlist? Compared with Aurora, AMO's mkt cap would seem like loose change.H2Lamb said Pace could use its strong free cash flow to make further acquisitions in the wake of its purchase of Aurora for $323.5m in October 2013. He said:Under the current management team Pace has acquired Aurora which proved to be a very good acquisition. We are slightly surprised that management hasn’t been more acquisitive to date. We believe potential acquisitions fall into the following categories:Software assets but these could be very expensiveAdjacent areas such as connected home. Again could prove to be expensive given the interest in this areaNetworking assets similar to Aurora. This is our preferred optionAcquiring a competitor to gain scale. Potential targets include Technicolor’s Connected Home business or Cisco’s Service Provider Video business. While these may be very cheap we don’t believe that doubling down on a structurally declining market is wise. Of these Cisco would be our preferred play as it has strong technology and is US based making any headcount reductions easier.

FinnCap "Amino divi boost shows confidence in 2015 salesSoftware group Amino Technologies’ (AMO) dividend hike reiterates management’s confidence in future sales.FinnCap analyst Andrew Darley increased his target price from 150p to 165p but did not place a recommendation on the shares as the company is a corporate client. The shares edged 1.1% lower to 125.6p yesterday.‘Amino has reported prelims to November 2014 in line with unchanged expectations – upgraded twice during the year,’ he said. ‘Management confidence is typified by the boost to the dividend, 25% ahead of expectations, with an ongoing commitment to dividend growth of no less than 10%.‘The broader product set, confidence in the reinvigorated sales engine, and strong second half performance confirm the return to forecast sales growth in full-year 2015 and full-year 2016 from an increase in both unit sales and the average sales price.’"From Citywire.
