Sweet dreams are made of this Where have all the bb discussion comments gone since since June 9th. I cant find them. can you advise Contrariwise. This site has gone to the dogs!
Re: Sweet dreams are made of this The slides are interesting and can be used to analyse what has gone wrong and what might possibly happen, were it to go right just for once. The expectations were based on Pad 2N performing and apart fro Plat 22, that was not the case. 25 and 27 were poor and they did not drill 23.Equally, CPO 5 (not in their control) simply did not progress to the back to back well expected (Sol at that time) and Mariposa started production late, of course.Sol is simply delayed and Indico , Aguila and Sol, could, if successful, put that component of the equation back on track (and more besides).Much of the additional expectation (over the 10,000) comes from bringing on the "N" sands and the new fields. Again they are late and Put 8 has jumped the queue in place of Coati , but with success, there should be a discernible resemblance to the plan.To some extent, the recovery in the SP has acknowledged the potential, but without a doubt the emphasis is on exploration success and the SP reflects that risk: had the new drilling happened timeously (and with success) the market would have forgiven the Platinillo decline, as it was in line with expectations. No wonder the board all looked so sullen at the AGM: this will not have gone down well with their city pals.
Re: Sweet dreams are made of this And management (sorry I meant the remuneration committee) still award themselves options and bonuses. It should work both ways. Management can award options and bonuses but equally shareholders can have them reduced, removed or 'sacked' at AGM's. Surely it's fair that Shareholders get a say on what the penalty should be for pooooooor performance.HUB
Sweet dreams are made of this Remember this corporate presentation from May 2017:[link] to the production forecasts on pages 12 and 13. now Amerisur was meant to be producing between 12,000 and 15,000 bopd. What happened?Amerisur serially misses all its production targets. Shocking.
June update vs May update Going back to the May month production update that contains stats for April we read: "During the month the Company performed a number of surface equipment modifications, together with workovers and treatments on wells Platanillo-11, 6, 20 and 22, leading to a reduction in Platanillo production. It is expected that the benefits of these operations will be seen during May 2018."Average April production was 4,923 BO, peak 5440.The June update has figures marginally lower than the May update. Average production of 4,807, peak 5334. Average May production is therefore down just 2.3% on April's number, while peak production is down just 1.95%.On their own these numbers are not cause for concern. What is worrying is that once again management have failed to meet guidance, leaving the impression that they are not fully in command of the situation. Lest we forget:In 2014 the company was forecasting end 2015 production of 8,200 bopdIn 2015 it forecast end 2016 production of 7,200In 2017 it forecast end 2017 production of 7,000+Yet here we are and production is under 5,000 bopd, with very little explanation for the shortfall. All a bit p*ss poor. I own way too much of this stock btw. All my other oily's doing very well. This is the outlier.
Re: Comparisons are odious Production numbers, whatever, in July, they may be, are not so important. They will cause SP fluctuation, but the real problem and the future of AMER is, new discoveries. If there are no, new discoveries, you may say, the game is over, for AMER. I don't wont to upset Elena, but not buying in foreseeable future.
Re: Comparisons are odious If the poor production level is the worst they can turn up then yes, it certainly bodes well for July. Just think, if they improve on these numbers next month it will be good news? Sarcasm aside, the exploration phase should in theory be the driver for the share price and not the bread and butter production.Poor weather, well shut ins and the usual social unrest are regular hurdles for AMER. The irony is (and this really did make me laugh) is that the pipeline bottleneck issue will be cleared soon and ready to take 9000bopd+. Just at a time when AMER's production is near 2 year lows lol! Perhaps it would have been a better idea to have this bottle neck sorted 2 years ago ready for production of 7000bopd+The recent RNS is so bad that it's almost as if Management are waving a for sale sign flag. Can they really deliver lower production numbers next month? The answer is yes.Hopefully come July, traders will be arriving ahead of the exploration drilling which looks a decent risk vs reward play with CoS higher than most.HUB
Re: Comparisons are odious Someone on ADVFN saying that IC have put this down as a buying opportunity for AMER. They go on to say that a buy rec from IC is probably the kiss of death.... larf, I nearly did.
Re: Comparisons are odious Just chexcked for bid to offer split - 1/2 of 1%. Means what anyone? Balance of buyers and sellers?
Re: Comparisons are odious Down 13.26%, as I type. It could have been worse.m
Re: Comparisons are odious Fair point, and as I said we are only as good as today - and the future, and whatever that holds.
Re: Comparisons are odious Claude don't forget, depletion of reserves, with no new discoveries.
Re: Bad figures A set back in the battle does not mean the battle won't be won.Directors bought shares very recently, they don't do that for fun.AMER should come alright, share price fallen far enough (IMO),should recover to region 18p soon, and that is still cheap.ws
Re: 4800 good May. . Predictive text is sometimes a pain...I typed bopd and it typed good!!!!!You have got to laugh. We can only hope the drilling campaign pays dividends in the next 6 months...Agree with your comments Hub...
Do you have children Elena? you should gift these shares to them in the hope of ''80+p'' in their lifetime think of a number and triple it... or quadruple it, even ...entertaining, at leastPS: on reflection best keep on friendly terms with the kids as you may need them in your old age .. so just keep the Amer shares to yourself.
