from the FT re poss deal..... this from Bryce Elder and the team at the FT .....[link] Minds hit a record high, up 16 per cent to 595p. The US intellectual property investor, whose shares have more than trebled since flotation in June, were helped by speculation of a significant deal for its Federated Wireless broadband infrastructure subsidiary.

I think ALM has good potential, but see Woodford's recent purchases as just topping up his holdings (all his holdings) as new client money flows in i.e. proportionately his position in ALM is the same. So I don't think he has become more positive or negative on this stock in the last 6 months, and the SP of ALM has doubled in that time. So a HOLD for me, and in fact I could see this drifting back to sub 400p.

Re: Woodford investements increase holding I follow his investments closely and took a position in Allied as soon as he notified it. He's big into Pharmaceutical which I think is very astute given the rising number of over 50's and general increase in expecations of the world's population re disease cure. He clearly thinks Allied has some great stuff in its pipeline.

Re: Bought at 375 I think this is Woodford's pet project - he's been involved for ages and I gather the reason it is listed in London rather than the US, despite being almost entirely US-based, is so he could put it in his funds.I dithered at the IPO as I couldn't guestimate a fair value. I still can't, but bought some anyway a while ago. Maybe I should use that as a basis for my investment strategy more often as, at risk of applying a kiss of death, it seems to be going OK!
