Re: o/t Unfortunately, the UK Government can't change the law because it's EU Law. It was even stated in the House today, just caught a few minutes on the News, that for our UK Government to give Government State Aid, it has to go cap in hand to get the approval of the unelected bureaucrats in Brussels. But why didn't the UK Government throw a steel contract for the thousands of tons of steel required for HS2 rail lines to Tata which could have been a possible lifeline. But no, Osborne has invited the Chines to bid for HS2 rail. So the Chinese are dumping steel, but they can only dump it if there's a buyer. Why has the UK got some of the highest energy costs globally? One factor are the subsidies that have been paid out for the countless wind turbines scattered across the country, a Labour/Liberal/Conservative legacy for the next few generations. It's ironic that the 28 turbines built just offshore from Redcar have contributed to the Redcar Steel demise. Granted the Conservative government are ceasing onshore subsidies, but no mention of offshore subsidies and the turbines yet to be built on the Dogger Bank, Up to 2000, Planning is in for the first 400. Subsidies to be paid to the Crown Estate. Wonder if Charles the 'environmentalist organic farmer' has been full y briefed.Apologies for the rant, but the unelected EU bureaucrats really get my goat. Time for a G&T. A large one.YB
o/t EVERY GOVERNMENT HAS FAILED THIS COUNTRYwww.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/15000-workers-face-losing-jobs-6663477The Government should step in and support our industry. I dont care if that is protectionism or against the lawProtect UK jobs no matter what it takes, if that is against the law, change the blxxdy lawStop paying out benefits, do something about the jobsI was talking to a local MP recently. Its frightening, they know nothing, they just jump from issue to issue if somebody prods themIts really scary for the future of our grandchildren
NOTHING, NOTHIng and more nothing Its not looking good here, in fact gets worseThe bod aren't doing anything to promote this company in a good light. Trouble is, I dont think investors would believe it anywayDL., at the moment, is not at the top of the popularity polls. All comments I have seen in the last couple of weeks is that he misleads investorsIt really is about time they told investors what is going on here. AfriagSA is nowhere to be seen cant find anythingThats not goodISDX hasn't done any good. Didnt really know what that was all about anyway. All my trades through Barclays went through ISDX., so what was that all aboutIt all seemed a shade of Timis companies, where certain exchanges wouldnt allow him to list some of his companies. I hope that is not happening with DL companies, DL did tweet something recently about wanting people to get in touch with FCA and tell them that he did care about shareholders. What was that all about? Has he had a ticking off?DL said Afriag would still be listing on AIM ie dual, so unsure of what to thinkUntil there is a lot more clarity I wouldnt expect people would want to buy this stock. A standard update RNS is not going to make much of a difference. It will only fall back againIts just not happening here, and there wont be until we know what really is going on with Afriag SATaking money from UK retail investors to shore up a company in SA??? Where is the retail shareholder value in that. We know nothing about the companies that AfriagSA are involved withWe nothing behind AFriagSa, who is behind it all. All we have is bad press re Lonrho and Rollex One of the news articles states it asked DL for comments but simply that he cited he had raised billions for the African economy over the last decadeHe did interviews on tipTV but news is quickly forgotten, cant remember myself what was saidWe need information, an FDP if you will, something to tell us about AFriagSA
Those crocodile skins I looked at the crocodile products last year. There was also something on a programme, maybe How its Made, some time backThere is a lot of money in the skins. I dont suppose the farmers get that much though. No wonder a lot of celebs do philanthropy. PdR and Afriag turned into competitors? Just a repost of articles I put on here re the allegations. Posted it in July 2014. Its very old news. However, it wouldnt hurt to have some knowledge of what is going on with the SA side. Its good that SP has picked this up. We should be positve about the tweets and work with it. We could get some good info, get things out in the openWill see what happensMY POST FROM JULY 2014www.iii.co.uk/investment/detail/?display=discussion&code=cotn%3AAFRI.L&threshold=0&it=le&action=detail&id=11280274Saw articles on LSE re OceanFresh. From what I gather OceanFresh went with the sale of Rollex to Lonrho (under new ownership)The article below is part of the news in the media re the charges against PdR and VDB. You can google for the article but Im not going to post the link, its all been seen beforeI didnt go any deeper into all this re OceanFresh so didnt find anything to suggest OceanFresh had gained any further contract with Mozambique. Good enough reason for spurious allegations against PDR and VDB since they sold Lonrho OceanFresh in the first place?. Lonrho through its acquired OceanFresh arm had (or said it had) rights to Tuna fishing in Mozambique waters. Mozambique denied this and went on to buy their own fishing fleet and Tuna company. I have posted an extract from article, and link, below. Not sure if it is in this particular link, but Mozambique says it is going with its own company and will seek to up its exports. Read a couple of articles and seem to remember it said particular upping exports to JapanEnter Afriag Sales and Marketing.........from an article 23 FebVan der Burgh and his wife Marlene founded Oceanfresh, which provided fish to a number of giant companies, including US-based retail behemoth Walmart.Walmart said last week it had discontinued its relationship with Oceanfresh, but refused to say why.According to two sources directly involved in the probe, Lonrho found that Van der Burgh had directed a systematic manipulation of Oceanfresh's finances through the "round tripping" of cash between a series of bank accounts.Van der Burgh faced criminal charges and civil action. Lonrho claimed about R65-million in damages. This week, Van der Burgh said: ''While it is correct that civil action and a criminal complaint were filed against me, a settlement agreement has been concluded ... [and] I am not at liberty to disclose the details."But he denied any ''misappropriation of Oceanfresh assets".Lonrho described Oceanfresh and Rollex as key holdings of its agribusiness division, which had made up 65% of its revenue by 2012.Article re Mozambique and OceanFresh dated Feb 2014[link] The Mozambican government has denied stories circulating in the foreign media that it has granted the British multinational Lonrho exclusive rights to fish for tuna in Mozambican waters for the next five years.Lonrho had announced in September 2012 that its Oceanfresh Seafood Division had been granted exclusive fishing rights for tuna in Mozambique's 12 mile territorial waters and in the 200 mile Exclusive Economic Zone. Lonrho added that the Mozambican authorities had set its quota at 12,000 tonnes of tuna a year.Cited in Monday's issue of the Maputo daily Noticias, Transport Minister Gabriel Muthisse, speaking in the northern province of Nampula, said there was no truth in the Lonrho claim. Muthisse is in a good position to know since, up until about three months ago, he was Deputy Minister of Fisheries.Up until the moment I left the Ministry of Fisheries to take up my new post as Minister of Transport we had not discussed granting exclusive tuna fishing rights to any company or investor interested and much less to Lonrho, he said.So far there has been to progress in the question of granting such exclusive rights to anyone. At the right moment, the government will take the decision it deems appropriate on this m
What to make of it all Just a couple of links for peeps to look at now we have your attention. Allegedly involved with PdR in this was Yusuf Kajee, Not seen (or looked) for any updates re this stuff but notice that Yusuf Kajee received an award from the Zuma Foundation in April this year. Sort of pours water on the these flames of alledged wrongdoingDid cross my mind, and have put up research, that tobacco growing would be very lucrative for these teams. And.......what do they need for really sucessful tobacco crops? POTASHYou could see from the infamous stories in the links that PdR is really sucessful with the agriculture, logistics etc (ROLLEX, LONRHO)You couldnt get anyone betterJust hope those POTASH deliveries will get delivered by Afriag. I noticed that Andrew Groves (of AFPO and ADSS fame) is senior director at Agriterra, I forget exact position. Afriag have an investment in Agriterra, just by the by[link] Yusuf Kajee[link]
Thank God, publicity from the master I thought we might hear from TW before long, it;s about time. TW is doing everything he can now to get traffic to his site. Give him a break and go look. Really really old news re PdR, but its all publicity so we shouldnt complainThere is so much more, I have posted a good deal of it already, but heck, who listens to me. You might listen if TW posts it then you can go away and dyorIm just hoping Afriag have replaced any trucks they may (or may not) have lost. Suppose it all depends on the truth One way or another we may get some further info from this publicity[link] think the link will stay put but he is easy to find (thats Tom Wxnnxfrxth)Thanks TW, cant imagine what brought this stroke of publicity on .
