December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product RNS Reach - This is a non-regulatory announcement 5 November 2019 AFC Energy Unveils Branding of Inaugural Technology Platforms Highlights · HydroX-Cell(L)TM - zero emission, high efficiency and low-cost alkaline fuel cell utilising a liquid electrolyte configured in 10kW modules, capable of deployment across large scale industrial applications utilising lower grades of hydrogen. · HydroX-Cell(S)TM - zero emission, high efficiency, high current density alkaline fuel cell utilising an anionic exchange membrane configured in 10kW modules capable of deployment across a range of both stationary and mobile applications, again, capable of utilising lower grades of hydrogen. · H-PowerTM - the new range of Hydrogen Power systems, including the soon to be released hydrogen fuelled off-grid EV charger, utilising the HydroX-Cell portfolio of fuel cell module configurations. · AlkaMemTM - the new range of anionic exchange polymer membranes developed for the HydroX-Cell(S)TM fuel cell application but with universal application across a range of additional applications including Alkaline Water Electrolysis, fuel synthesis and energy storage. In recent years, AFC Energy’s alkaline fuel cell technology has become synonymous with low cost, high efficiency, and fuel tolerant hydrogen power generators following a redesign and development programme instigated three (3) years ago. It is now only right that the technology underpinning the Company’s core identity be afforded its own brand as a key component of AFC Energy’s phased go to market strategy. Alkaline fuel cells are distinguished from other fuel cell technologies in the manner by which hydroxyl group ions (OH-) migrate from cathode to anode. It is at the anode where the hydrogen reacts with the hydroxyl group ions, releasing electrons, and which gives AFC Energy its high fuel efficiency and tolerance to lower grades of Hydrogen. The HydroX-Cell series of fuel cells draws its name from this unique reaction, whilst the distinguishing feature between technologies rests in the liquid (“L”) and solid (“S”) electrolytes used to conduct ions from cathode to anode. The AlkaMemTM polymer membrane developed by AFC Energy for inclusion in the Hydrox-Cell(S)TM fuel cell has been afforded its own branding due to the multiple applications in which it can be used outside of the fuel cell field. The Company will be releasing a specific update on each of the HydroX-Cell(S)TM and AlkaMemTM technologies shortly detailing updates on progress made in the development of these two core platforms within the AFC Energy technology portfolio. Adam Bond, Chief Executive Officer at AFC Energy, said “The culmination of the past three years work has led us to a clear tri-pillar approach to the branding of our core technologies within the H-Power suite of products. With a clear focus on our customer value proposition, we believe that these three core technologies, utilised within applications such as the Company’s hydrogen fuelled EV charger to be released next month, will deliver a zero emission, low cost and high performing technology platform capable of competing favourably with PEM and SOFC fuel cell systems in the market today”.

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product BumbleB: I normally write an account on LSE, but will post here whilst they have problems with vermin on that site. Copy and paste and ‘Lo!’ your account can be on both sites in seconds! I took a trip to LSE recently to try and get a wider view on another company but was attacked pretty much immediately by a troll and a bunch of hang-on sycophants. I stuck it out a while, but nothing actually sensible did come out of the babble, so I left again. God forbid you might criticise a management decision or two, especially on an AIM company, over there. Its bad enough here, but that site is full of ‘cheerleaders’. One has even followed me back here to troll me. Its pretty sad, as is the demise of ii as a discussion board. About the only thing Private Investors have left going for them, potentially, if looking for an edge or new ideas, are boards like these and people who are of known integrity giving honest views and prepared to spend time answering questions. Even online ‘magazines’ all seem to have an agenda these days, many of them anyway, and often articles from independents are being used for hype. Talking of which, keep an eye out for the press on Friday. I’m hoping AFC get wide coverage, at least in the investor sections of the press over the weekend. They should do, E.V.s and renewables are a topical subject, if not drowned out by the election, of course. Monday may be a day for profit taking. If it isn’t, that cash call for just £0.5m could turn out to have been a very costly decision for many shareholders.

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product BumbleB: I certainly do Your the second person here then. I’m surprised given that there were only 50 tickets available. Do give us a report on your impressions as soon as you get back home (or before if you can manage it on your phone!). Have a good day out. Here’s hoping it is the start of something very fruitful for all of us who have been involved for a long time with AFC (not that they owe me anything at this stage).

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product BumbleB: Oh yes, the sudden cash raise. Something to ask about on Friday if time permits. My guess would be a longer version of ‘we could get 5 times more doing it than we could have a week earlier’. Probably will be addressed in the presentation before Q&A session. Do you have a ticket then?

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product BumbleB: I would be surprised if they mixed share holders with customers, a somewhat risky business. They may have different information requirements from the day? RNS 28th Oct 2019 “Shareholders, partners and customers will shortly be invited to an Open Day to see the EV charger at Dunsfold Park in operation.” @marktime1231 Perhaps they’ll have them in at separate times, or maybe they are well briefed existing customers. They could mean potential customers, but that’s quite a slip in an RNS… I think it may have been a slip anyway, so I fully take your point about potential market abuse, especially as a director bought shares since then. BumbleB: I have viewed it as a product launch all along, and I don’t think the company have said anything about the event marking large new orders. Except for the cash raise … RNS Nov 19th "The net proceeds of the Subscription, the majority of which are raised from a single overseas institutional investor, are intended to enable the Company’s ability to fulfil orders following the Electric Vehicle demonstration programme commencing in December 2019. " I agree with @marktime1231, I’m probably reading too much into it because of the regulatory restrictions, so perhaps no actual contracts announced at the event. Maybe an indication to the amount of interest already shown though. Also, perhaps pricing, business model etc, all of which are still a mystery to shareholders and could make or break the interest of any potential customers.

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product I have viewed it as a product launch all along, and I don’t think the company have said anything about the event marking large new orders. Of course they have previously attended a show at Birmingham in September, with MSP where they promoted the product, and they have been working on it with Rolec who may have been talking to possible customers. It is not impossible that there is some announcement lurking in the background, but it will come as a surprise if it does (admittedly a pleasant one). Rennocks made a lot at his first AGM about his role being to see that the company were law abiding. It would therefore be strange if his first share purchase was made close to a signed deal he knew about. The only RNSs that came after his share purchase was the new website, which we had been told already was due to be unveiled in November.

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product I have been pondering this and wonder if this event is a product launch / markets day rather than a planned event to announce a major order. Customers should be read to mean potential customers perhaps. My reasoning is that if there is a pencilled in order big enough to have a material consequence on the financial outlook of the company, known for days and weeks to insider parties, then for insider trading reasons there should have been a market announcement already. It would be inviting market abuse otherwise, I think the market rules say a company and its broker should be swift to be transparent on significant news whether positive or negative. You are certainly not supposed to stage market events which deliberately surprise small shareholders while insiders knew for days and weeks what was coming. My conclusion is, therefore, that this is being overhyped. The product launch and potential interest in it might be impressive, but if there was a significant inked-in commercial announcement to make we should already have heard it.

December 6th 2019. AFC launch first commencial product It is going to be a big day. I’m very much hoping they announce the first contracts too. I’m guessing they will, but of course I don’t know, although invites have gone out to shareholders, partners and customers one RNS said.
