QNL due Hi Hardboy, May I suggest opening an account on [link] where you will find a lot of friendly comment, banter and familiar names. Its only a small community but where there are two or more people interested in the same share you get some reasonable discussion and analysis which is awfully hard to dig out on ADVFN, which I find too busy to use also. The above site is entirely free, by the way.
QNL due Hi Eadwig, Good to see you are still commenting on shares. I have given up on ii except for trading. The so called upgrades have completely ruined their service in my view. Although getting e mails when someone posts something relevant like this is an improvement. I make do with a combination of LSE, Morningstar & Investing.com to follow what’s going on. Sadly I’ve not found a discussion board to compare with ii, and I miss the insightful comments from folk like yourself. People have told me ADVFN is good for discussions, but I find the sight much to busy: it seems to be trying to do far too much. As for AFC. I do hold them. I took a small punt on Fuel Cells via AFC & Ceres. Ceres has doubled while AFC has halved; but so far neither are actually making any money.
QNL due It was announced that the QNL was being ceased some time back because any real news has to be released in an RNS anyway. My reply is even later than the QNL used to be … but we got there in the end.
Low,Low price We’re not sure how big the contract is in commercial terms yet,are we? I take it you mean small in KwH terms, although its a substantial step on the way to the stated target of 1Gw by 2020 (from memory). I haven’t looked into this in detail in recent times so please do put me right if a) I’m mis-remembering or b) there has been updates that I may have missed. More worrying to me is what I have read on this contract is they don’t seem to be sure of just exactly quite how big it actually is in terms of KwH. Its a strange way of doing business … but at least the contract is with an industrial process company that has hydrogen as a waste product on hand which I have always argued is the no-brainer market to sell into, especially where they have high energy requirements also, which most of these plants do.
Low,Low price Yes that is true. I was going more by past placements. A 5p placement would be a sign, imo, that the management are failing. After stating that they are ready for commercialisation, all we have is a small contract which will not be operational until next year. Still waiting for the 2nd and 3rd contracts which were promised by the end of the year.
Low,Low price There’s nothing to stop them doing a placement at any price they choose is there? Have I missed something somewhere (entirely possible after a long break away). Just because the last placement was @10p (60% reduction on the actual sp at the time, if I remember correctly )and it will not be popular if they come back for more at, say, @5p, I don’t believe there is anything to stop them.
Low,Low price Certainly seems to be worth a punt as the sp would have to head towards 10p before they come with ‘cap in hand’ asking for more cash.
Low,Low price I no longer have the problems that were locking me out simply because I was outside the UK. Other problems that I listed are relatively minor and I think one or two may have been fixed. There are some other complications due to my trading ETFs , certain funds and some strange smaller, left field companies . Some of those can’t be fixed, they simply are no longer available through ii, so what happens when I come to sell those holdings I don’t know. No point in trying to find out ahead of time. I imagine it will have to be sorted out as a one-off on the phone. This also leads to other problems E.g. I tried to list the main holdings in one of my funds the other day and there was no way to get the info. via ii, although it was available on one or two other funds. The main downside right now is the fx rate charged is a massive 1.5% . This can be avoided to some extent by building up a cash pool of foreign currencies, but you can see how that leads to problems pretty quickly. I rely heavily on limit orders which weren’t executing at one point … however, I’ve now come to realise that the spread seem to be much greater on some AIM companies and possibly some of those that didn’t execute may have been down to that. I also tried to buy something on the Hong Kong exchange and my order kept failing with no reason given. A secure message was responded to and I was told that you have to buy in ‘lots’ of shares on H.K. which I didn’t know. The message gave me a link purporting to show detail of this, but the link was out of date, and apart from the one company that I was told had to be bought in lots of 100, I still can’t find any information on other Hong Kong listed stocks and what size of lot is required. At least I can get on and trade which was all I ever asked for. I’m prepared to work through the other problems and additional charges which I guess I shall have to swallow as the hassle of moving all my accounts I just can’t be doing with at this moment in time.
Low,Low price Hi, E. I’m thinking the same, slow progress, yes, but they have got their first proper order and commercialisation seems to be much closer now that’s under their belt. O/T now, but, did you finally get satisfactory access to your account after all the pressure we put on ii? I’m accessing mine ok now but I only have a straight forward share dealing account with them, Regards, TPj
Low,Low price Seems a little odd to me as AFC have received more cash from the EU and there is commercial news regarding progress on the commercial contract due over the next few weeks - and some preliminary results which will give insight into the undisclosed numbers associated with contracts. Apart from the slowness of progress, I’m unaware of any specific negative news. I can’t say I’m diving in to add to my holding which is now approaching levels at which it is hardly worth selling having taken profit previously. I’m just starting to feel like a smallish punt to see how it goes over the next 8 weeks or so might not be the worst move in the world … especially given that there isn’t much in the main markets right now that is attracting my eye.
todays movements Time for a change before its too late. Adam Bond needs to go ASAP, and maybe replace a couple of board members, its just not working as it is now. The SP should be at minimum 15p. Nobody has belief in Bond and the board anymore.
todays movements AFC… XXXXX That did not pen out so well 15 days ago … Topped up again @ 7.14 ( luckily platform would not take 7.15 lol )
todays movements AFC… XXXX Topped up @ 7.8p rushed choice as up in Gainsborough and looking after the Grandbabys . Interesting to see how this pens out lol
RNS Southern Oil Contract No activity on this board for 9 days. What a great set of modifications to the site. It beggars belief that ii didn’t realise this would be the effect when we all saw it immediately.
RNS Southern Oil Contract Haha, not all bad then!
