Re: Twitter up 5% today I don’t think you really believe what you write, Dr M. After all, my strategy is not that dissimilar to yours. Yes, a chunk of my portfolio is handed over and managed on a discretionary basis. But I like to keep my hand in. Like you, a big proportion of my DIY portfolio is still in a range of UTs and ITs. Some of the best performers over the last few years in that category are Fundsmith, LT global, Crux Euro Special Sits, even the HL Select Growth fund. Hell, LT global has gone up about 12% in this tax year alone. These are highly focused buy and hold funds - small number of stock picks of high quality companies. This is in no way your definition of momentum investing, but highly profitable all the same. Then, finally, I also have a number of individual share picks. Some are value plays - eg BP, Rotork, Senior, which have been highly profitable. Not all have worked - I have a big stake in your favourite little resource pick of AAU. I’m up about 20% on my average, but I’ve been in for years. Disappointing yearly return to be honest. But I’m also in PRSM, SEE, BMN, which have been terrific. And then QFI, which has been an unmitigated disaster. All my point was that taking that approach means my portfolio is also at an all time high, because we are in a decade long bull market. It would be difficult not to be following almost any strategy. A point I think you now agree on. Yes, it might be a bit higher if I followed 100 rising companies and traded in and out following your approach. But I have to go to work. Still, I think we agree on horses for courses now which is progress. Cheers

Re: MA MasterCard LebThis is my 23rd post for today. Half of them because of you.Blimey.This tells you my story. I’m a prolific poster in here and people love to have a pop at me. A good laugh for them. Cheap shots from the playground.I’m just like the head of a family or a boss at work ...etc we get cheap shots fired at us all the time, people sit in the tea room at work and slag their boss off. This is a classic British Pastime. HaHaHaI’m not bothered, why should I?? I’ll have the two bob man, iamsharecrazy, having another go at me tomorrow. You see, he has 2 quid invested in the stock market mainly in 888 Holding, the betting company, and thus he feels he owns this bb. Amazing. And I’m told he’s a 6 foot giant rabbit, believe it or not.HaHaHa

Re: MA MasterCard BTW we are different animals. You’re a trader mostly. Buy and sell for 12% profit in 3 weeks time. I don’t. I buy and sell 12 months later hopefully for a 50% gain or more. This means I have more shares in my portfolio than you but my holdings are probably smaller than yours.Nothing wrong with that.

Re: ISRG Please don’t tell Loadsadough that I bought this share a while ago. He has me on Ignore so won’t read this post.Loadsadough thinks that all I do is buy shares so that my stockbrokers HL can make money out of me. I make losses all the time, apparently. He’s lost the plot obviously. But please don’t tell him anything about me making good gains. He’ll hate it. He’s living in a shell surrounded by ITM and PHE. Sad.Good luck Dr M

ISRG [link] Intuitive Surgical. This is a Nasdaq listed company that deals with improving surgical procedures using artificial intelligence technologies.I’ve held this share for a while and I’m doing very well. The sp chart in link above shows a “rising” share on a new leg up. There’s plenty of upside to come. New investors will make good gains IMO.My rating is a 3* Solid Buy. Just opinions, my opinions, not advice.DYOR Dr M

Re: MTCH Please please don’t tell Loadsadough I bought this share. He has me on ignore so he won’t know. If you tell him he’ll have a serious heart problem. He’ll think I’m ONLY doing this to improve the finances of my stockbrokers HL.Particularly as Loadsadough taunted me something rotten when this share crashed a few weeks ago; down 26% in one day. I was already up 45% so when I sold I still made 15% profit, so no real problem. But Loadsadough has nothing else to do these days apart from slagging me off. Oh well, I’ll leave him to it. But don’t tell him anything please.Thank youLol

MTCH [link] Matchgroup. I re purchased this share 10 minutes ago, a smallish amount. I was a holder before. The sp chart in link above shows a recovery from the nasty retrace due to Facebook announcing they’ll set up a dating service. See how she goes.Good luck DYORDr M

Re: MA MasterCard Don’t tell Loadsadough please. He’s got me on ignore so he won’t know I’m being charitable to my stockbroker HL spending money buying shares for HL’s benefit. Please don’t tell him, otherwise he’ll have a heart flutter. Lol

Re: Twitter up 5% today And don’t tell Loadsadough I bought TWTR. He will think I’m only doing it to swell up the coffers of my brokers HL.It’s amazing, staggering, how Loadsadough’s standards have declined recently. I’m blaming it on ITM and PHE. Lol
