Six Flags to control another water park News - Six Flags are re-taking control of Waterworld California, which they developed but then was sold and operated by Premier Parks. Looks like ACSO are bound to get the opportunity to install their wristbands at another water park:[link] Also, here's Six Flags' Q1 conference call transcript - no specific mention of ACSO or Prism etc, but there are lots of references to expanding their water parks, which has to be to ACSO's advantage. For example:[link] "I'm especially excited about the potential to bundle our existing theme parks in a market with a nearby water park to offer combo theme and water park season pass. In the case of Oaxtepec, we took over operations of an unprofitable water park at no cost, refurbished it with a new capital investment, and expect to see meaningful earnings contributions in the near term. In other likely deals, we may simply acquire or lease an existing water or theme park and enhance its profitability with our scale and season pass bundling."

Good news today from Six Flags Six Flags have just announced this afternoon an "excellent start" to 2017 and a likely "record season":[link] 2017 season is off to an excellent start with solid attendance growth through this past weekend,” said John Duffey, President and CEO. “With a 17 percent increase in our Active Pass Base at the end of the quarter, a new water park opening in Mexico and the best line-up of new rides and attractions in the company’s history, we are very well-positioned for 2017 to be another record season. We remain confident in our ability to achieve Project 600 in 2017 and continue to drive toward our long-term aspirational goal of $750 million of Modified EBITDA1 by 2020.”

Whitman Howard upgrade to 2000p Whitman Howard have just issued a note upgrading ACSO to Buy and increasing their target price to 2000p.This follows the Ingresso acquisition and also recognises the blue sky opportunity in Asia and "an improving revenue mix of higher margin ticketing sales".Where will they have to upgrade to following news of a roll-out across the Universal Studios attractions client base - 3000p?

Re: Fantastic news re Universal tie-up Excellent. Thank you. From the list of posts here, you seem to favour buying into this company. Is that right? 😀

Fantastic news re Universal tie-up Here's a wonderful new article in the Los Angeles Times:[link] we have official confirmation that1) Universal's new Tapu Tapu device is definitely ACSO's Prism:"The Volcano Bay wristband was developed by Britain-based Accesso"and(2) "Universal plans to roll out the technology to its other theme parks." This is great news, and should provide the fuel for the next leg up in the share price. Hopefully soon ACSO will be able to RNS the launch of the Tapu Tapu device at Volcano Bay, along with suitably positive comments from Universal, and then later we should get a global roll-out announcement similar to Merlin's.

Re: Impressive new acquisition I absolutely hate these small software-driven marketplace businesses with proprietary technology that talk about multi hundred billion market opportunities --- think Blur. ACSO is an impressive business but I don't like this acquisition at all.

Impressive new acquisition Ambitious-looking entertainment ticketing acquisition today from cash:[link] a remarkable second RNS, whereby the CEO of the acquire is subscribing for £500,000 of new ACSO shares AND promising to invest 40% of any earn-out proceeds into more ACSO shares. He must have been incredibly impressed by this company of ours![link]

Techmarketview likes ACSO Nice review from Techmarketview - I like the concluding paragraph about capturing and using data, indicating that ACSO could become a play on Big Data:[link] 21 March 2017Accesso benefitting from its imaginationLooking at its FY16 results, it’s apparent that AIM listed Accesso Technology Group has reached a point in its development where it has the products, the experience and the imagination to really scale the business up. It is its work on rethinking technology solutions for the leisure, entertainment and cultural markets (queuing, ticketing, point-of-sale and guest management) that is making a difference and enabled it to top previous strong growth (see here) with an impressive year. In the year to December 31 2016 revenue was up 10% to $102.5m with an even better top line improvement: adjusted EBITDA up 25.7% to $19.1m while PBT rose 40% to $10.1m. At the same time net debt reduced by $6m to $3.4m. These improvements were made while continuing with an investment programme so while some costs rose, management has been careful (successfully so) to ensure they have not outstripped revenue. Growth has been attributed to greater scale in the business, contract wins and new ideas, with good proof points evident across all three areas. New ideas include developments such as Prism, it’s a smart park wearable device that can handle queuing, payments, messaging, photography, park access and trip intelligence. It addresses practical issues but also gathers some insightful data about visitor patterns of behaviour which Accesso could put to use in all manner of ways. It could be a great example of our view that data is the new currency and of the need to Unlock the Intelligence."

Results way ahead of expectations Terrific results today, well ahead of expectations:[link] 42p EPS is some 17% ahead of 36p EPS forecasts....and £12.7m PBT is also way ahead of £11.7m forecasts. The outlook is great, with specific mention already of confidence in meeting expectations this year and a load of contract wins, though this investment phase will temporarily affect margins. The first Prism roll-out in the water park should be detailed further via RNS in the next month or two I'd have thought. The Merlin roll-out is progressing smoothly and all legs of the business seem to be going gangbusters. It's just a great, well-run business with excellent global prospects.

New article about Prism ...and more hints about its possible usage by Universal:[link]

Re: Good news from Merlin for ACSO I think that second point is particularly encouraging..."Financial improvement evident through improved mobile conversion rates, up-selling and cross-selling".Proof positive that the approach builds average revenue per visitor and I think the prism technology will consolidate even further on that. So Merlin, Six flags, etc improve their margins, their guests have a better experience, so they will want more devices, with more functionality and Accesso benefit from improved slices of that as I understand the commercial model, increased volumes, and increased appeal across the market. Virtuous circle and such a powerful sales story.Topped up again today.6

Good news from Merlin for ACSO ACSO are highlighted strongly in Merlin's results today - everything looks good, particularly the "financial improvement":[link] "Exploiting strategic synergies · Continued global implementation of the accesso® 'Passport' ticketing system with roll out targeted to be complete at all major sites by the end of 2017. · Financial improvement evident through improved mobile conversion rates, up-selling and cross-selling. · Further leveraging of accesso® platform underway through the development of ticketing for trade channels."

Re: Whitman Howard raise target price and fo... I also note from an article this week on Proactive that Peel Hunt believe Merlin have "medium-term plans for ‘at least 25 Legolands”, including a “possible capex-heavy Legoland in New York.”

Whitman Howard raise target price and forecasts Whitman Howard yesterday increased their target price to 1900p (from 1850p).This is mainly due to (1) expected growth in Asia and (2) the expected roll-out of Prism by you-know-who this spring. They've also increased their 2016 adjusted PBT forecast to $14.7m from $13.7m.
