Universal Studios to use Prism? Prism looks a fantastic new product....and furthermore I was having a search around and came across this. Universal are opening their Orlando Volcano Bay resort next Spring, and their promo video notes a wearable device called a Tapu Tapu which looks very much like ACSO's new Prism, and seems to do a lot of the same things. There's a great article about it here, including the video - "the wake up call the theme park industry needs"!It would be big news to see an expansion of ACSO's presence with Universal....let's hope so anyway:[link]

RNS re disruptive new product A very impressive announcement:[link] today it will get the reaction it deserves - why they issued it just 4 minutes before the close yesterday God only knows (it surely could have been held over as the news certainly wasn't in the market yet). ACSO e-mailed the news last night as follows:"Explore a whole new spectrum of possibilities. The new accesso Prism is a next-generation, wearable device that heralds in a new age and new ways for theme parks, waterparks and other attractions to connect with guests. Prism is the latest offering in the accesso LoQueueSM line of virtual queuing solutions and uses accesso’s award-winning and proprietary queuing technology.Guests wearing this new device can enjoy a more carefree park visit with less time spent waiting at each attraction. With just a swipe of a finger on the wristband’s touch screen menu, guests take their place in the virtual queue for an attraction or show – no kiosk or smartphone required. If a ride’s operation is temporarily interrupted, or a show is rescheduled, the Prism device will notify the guest of the update.Prism is a wearable device that does much more than wait in line for guests – it allows for a fully integrated smart park, creating a better, more engaging and seamless guest experience. From front gate entry, to facilitating secure cashless purchases, sending push notifications or triggering events based on guest location, Prism sets a new standard for the attractions industry. "

RNS:Australian water parks win Excellent water parks win in Australia, proving the worth of the renewed sales effort in Asia - and also proving the effectiveness of ACSO's technology as a second win with Village Roadshow:[link] bio of Village Roadshow at the end of the RNS, showing the potential to expand with them: "About Village Roadshow Theme Parks Part of Village Roadshow Limited, a leading international entertainment and media company, Village Roadshow Theme Parks (VRTP) is an international theme park operator with operations in Australia, the United States, China and the Republic of Korea. Amati very positive Amati VCT2 released their interims on 30th September, and had this to say re ACSO which says it all: "The best performer over the period was Accesso Technology Group ("Accesso", a business with which long-standing shareholders will be familiar. The shares ended the period 70% higher following a strong start to 2016 with good organic growth across all divisions and eighteen new contract wins, including deals for Accesso Passport, the group's hosted ticketing ecommerce solution, with the Henry Ford Museum in Michigan and the Pacific Science Centre in Seattle. In addition to these new client wins, Passport continues to be rolled-out across Merlin Entertainment's global estate. With over 90% of revenues billed in US Dollars from North American customers, the attractions of Accesso have been enhanced by the post-Brexit sterling weakness. As this is a very significant position in the portfolio (10.7%), movements in the share price will tend to dwarf the impact of other stocks. However, we are reluctant to reduce our exposure yet, as we still see good opportunities ahead for the business, and it would be hard to find a new investment in something as attractive."

Tipped by Harry Nimmo Standard Life's legendary Harry Nimmo gives ACSO as one of his three stock picks "with a global reach":[link] The third and final stock is accesso (ACSO), maybe not a name you've heard of. But if you go to visitor attractions, theme parks and the like, you might be interacting with accesso. It's the mobile phone connection with the visitor attraction manager. They will organize your day. They will sell you tickets. They will give you discounts on food. They will put you in the queue, so you know when to turn up and not at all wait around like the old days of visitor attractions. They deal with theme parks all around the world. They do skiing, they do football clubs and they are really gaining traction. Recently they got a major contract with Merlin who are the second largest visitor attraction companies in the world. There's lots to come in this company. It's very exciting."

Merlin installation all on track Good stuff in today's trading statement from Merlin, primarily: "Exploiting strategic synergies ·2016 has continued to see the global implementation of the accesso® 'Passport' ticketing platform and we expect to have completed all major sites by the end of 2017."[link] Also: "New LEGOLAND Park developments · In October 2016, our seventh LEGOLAND Park - LEGOLAND Dubai - will open under a management contract. · LEGOLAND Japan will open under an operated and leased model in April 2017, with LEGOLAND Korea expected to open thereafter. · Negotiations for further parks in the USA and China continue." And overall, Legoland "continues to perform well against tough comparatives in the prior period".

Good news from today's Mail From today's Mail - good news for ACSO:[link] "Legoland plans parks in places far, far away: Star Wars-themed attractions prove popular with tourists City & Finance Reporter for the Daily Mail Published: 21:54, 25 September 2016 Legoland could be set to almost double the number of theme parks it has across the globe. The group, operated by Merlin Entertainments, is understood to be looking to expand. As well as three new planned openings in Dubai, Japan and Korea the firm is believed to have submitted an application for a park in New York. It is also thought to want to expand into China, with Beijing or Shanghai earmarked as possible locations. There are already six Legoland parks across the world in Windsor, Malaysia and the US, where its Star Wars-themed lego attractions are extremely popular with tourists. A New York site would be the group’s third in the Unites States. etc"

Expansion into China coming soon [link] expected to be the golden ticket for Accesso as revenue leapsInternational growth in resorts and attractions is set to work well for ticketing technology company Accesso in coming years.China's booming middle class could propel the country to the fore of global theme park, resort, and attraction ticket sales and Accesso is expecting to be able to take a slice of the action. Bottom line growth in recent months means the Berkshire-based company is now eyeing up expansion opportunities in the east. For the company's first half – usually the weaker of the two, accounting for around 35-40 per cent of earnings – Accesso pulled in $39.7m (£30.1m), a rise of 24 per cent on the same period last year. Today's set of results suggest the company should be on target to hit its full year expectations, though Accesso executive chairman Tom Burnet conceded "there's still work to do".Underlying earnings (Ebitda) surged by 126 per cent to $6.1m, from $2.1m last year as good weather brought out the thrill-seekers and sight-seers. Profit before tax was $2.3m, versus a loss the year before of $1.1m.Burnet believes the top 20 theme parks in China will have higher attendance numbers than the top 20 in the US in the US in coming years.A Sydney office opened in the second half of last year will be used as a launch pad into the Asian and Australian region and has so far built up a stable of around 20 customers.Burnet said:China is a huge market. Our western clients are all focused on growth there and we now have boots on the ground. Our Sydney office is the way in. It could be a huge market for us.Growth into China and Asia through acquisitions is something the company is considering. Over recent years Accesso has grown its operations through three separate deals. "M&A into China is a strategic choice we’re looking at," Burnet added. Accesso has still declined to post a dividend, preferring to invest cash into growing the business and investment in technology. Burnet said:I’d love to bring in a dividend but our job is to create shareholder value. We’re making good profits, we will [pay a dividend] at some point in the future. In February Accesso extended its agreement with US resort giant Six Flags – currently its biggest single contract – to 2025.The company expects similar long-term deals to guarantee a regular income over coming years. There are Ears in the Wilderness Gretel,We do hear you call! I have retired, now going for income in the ISAs in various REITs etc but this has to be the most amazing long term hold with income from the parks agreed to 2025 and beyond, either become a dividend paying source of pension income or even if PE drops out of stratosphere will have at least 5% capital appreciation over 20 years, which may well be the rest of my life! But leisure is the future and this should be a good place to be. I did, back in LoQ days suggest ski passes were way to go and this has to, and will, be a huge earner. There is already a fast track for the ski-school, most big resorts are playing with an electronic pass, stick it all on an app and business can grow 10 times as fast.Regards, Seadocps, sorry about my bot claim on IQE.

ACSO being bought by Hendersons [link] UK smaller company shares I'm buying for the current economic conditions, by top investorNeil Hermon, who runs the Henderson Smaller Companies investment trust, which has returned 174 per cent over the past five years, compared to 103 per cent for the average trust in the sector in the same time period, has revealed the stocks he is buying in anticipation of a change in UK government policy.""Another stock on which he is particularly keen right now is Accesso, which he disclosed is an online ticketing company. The fund manager said, ‘The key here is that Accesso get a 1-3 per cent cut of every ticket sold on their site. That contrasts with companies such as Ticketmaster, which take a cut of up to 22 per cent. There is a lot of intellectual property behind what Accesso does, and it trades at a valuation of 11 times 2018 earnings, which is cheap, we think this is a unique business in a growth market.’"
