Electric cars Nice article on copper in this weeks economist - says there will be copper shortages if the continued move to electric vehicles continues (they use 4 * the copper in present cars due to elec motor)....FD
Results Very good results PE 9.77 vs 14.16 BHP and 15.98 Rio.Hard to compare given no div at anglo and different commodities On ebitda less capex basis BHP and Rio more attractiveHowever if AAL does not pay a div and uses cash to further delever they will have a cap structure very similar to the others - using BHP and Rio multiples (ebitda and PE) and same EPS and Ebitda you would get a price of 2000p for AAL.Let see if Dec 2017 AAL price is around £20 - happy to hold till thenFD

Prices Continued gains in prices/no real unrest in S AfricaHopefully paying down debt very quickly so the share gets deriskedAll looking good especially with a lack of globalisation which will cause higher prices and more demand for AA productsFD

£9 per share!! This is amazing. And why would it stop there?
RBC Cap From ADVFN:"Anglo American got a boost on Monday as RBC Capital Markets upgraded the stock to 'outperform' from 'sector perform' and lifted the price target to 1,000p from 800p saying the tide is turning for the investment case"With the balance sheet striding towards rehabilitation and volume improvements in H2, Anglo's rating likely to improve. Further, divestments provide catalysts for the shares," RBC said. The Canadian bank said Anglo's first-half results were above both consensus and its forecasts despite disappointing copper production, with a strong effort to control or reduce costs across the group. In particular, it highlighted $1.1bn of free cash flow as a positive and said the company's balance sheet was beginning to look respectable.Looking forward, it said that in the second half there should be a greater benefit on costs from volumes, productivity and cost cutting, including headcount. While there will be lower activity in diamonds for seasonality reasons, volumes in copper, coal and iron ore should improve."Risks remain commodity prices, South Africa and the impact of any GBP strength on the share price," RBC said."
Dividend What's the latest on the dividend being re-instated? I did read sometime ago it was thought somewhere at the end of 2016. If so would we receive a payment in April 2017?Just wondering if I should hold on to these. Thanks.
