Re: From Digital Look If these reports are correct then the Shakeds were being greedy. Maybe they would like to buy me out at £2.50?
Re: From Digital Look They're always greedy from my years in 888. Then again, if they had sold to Ladbrokes for 70p, no-one would have ever seen the current price, so being greedy then worked out well. Not sure this time though, 888 is a great company but is it worth £1bln which is probably what they hope they get for it. Not sure I'd give £1bln for 888.GLAH.
From Digital Look Shares in on-line gambling firm 888 Holdings are headed for turbulent waters after the company terminated talks with William Hill regarding a possible take-over.After the introduction of the Point of Consumption Tax in the UK the firm will face increased competition, which is expected by analysts at Panmure Gordon to result in a significant slowdown in revenue growth. The broker adds that the starting-off point for the stock is another negative to take into account. The valuation remains aggressive given the high proportion of unregulated revenue (approximately 40%).Hence Panmure's decision to retain its 'sell' recommendation on the shares and 96p price target. The price tag mooted for the transaction - an offer price of 203p per share (including a 3p dividend) was suggested - would have valued 888's equity at £732m, representing a take-out multiple of 25.5 times these analysts' 2015 earnings per share estimate or at 16.8 times the operating profits (on an EBITDA basis) forecast for this year.
Expect sub £1.40 I think it'll slowly go back to normal levels sadly in coming weeks.
Re: So, regulars on here...... All this helps ultimately to get a deal done, the seller knows there is a point that suitors will walk so trims their expectations and the prospective buyers know where they have to be 'roughly but certainly above 210p' to acquire....my complete guess is an all cash equity house bid at 235p.
Re: So, regulars on here...... Still reckon £2.50 is a good take out point personally.
Re: So, regulars on here...... "Good old Shaked family, put a block in a sale once again. Will they ever get what they want though? "What they want, I am sure, is a good return on their investment. They currently have a large share in a successful business which pays a good dividend, and has good prospects for continued growth of profits and dividends. (As al we shareholders do - well not the "large share" bit -) They may be quite happy getting the decent, growing dividend, and have no intentions of giving it up unless the price is right. What we other shareholders have now discovered is that the right price for them is probably in excess of 210. Sit back and take the yield!
Re: So, regulars on here...... Zap - so now the take-over's gone, get back in.
Re: So, regulars on here...... Well, at least someone did. We are all wishing we did today, thats for sure!Good old Shaked family, put a block in a sale once again. Will they ever get what they want though?
Re: So, regulars on here...... Sold last Wed for $1.72/share. Modest gain, after being in the doldrum for the best part of the last 12 months! Guess I was a bit lucky!
Re: So, regulars on here...... Funny enough I had set my sell over the weekend to get out at 177. Looks like I'm still here waiting two years for the next bid!
Re: So, regulars on here...... I was tempted to buy some but thought I was too late after the initial rise, but I did not expect any prospective merger to have fallen through already. Just yo-yo'd in such a short time spell.
Re: Still a Sound Prospect Correction - broker update re uplift from 140 to 172 was 11/2 .
Still a Sound Prospect Just loaded up the trolley, 888 will not sell on the cheap anybody that's been watching this stock for some time will know this.Very opportune that a broker has just reaffirmed HOLD price target £1.72If William Hill don't take them over they are clearly in play and there will be many other companies casting their eye over them.
